Happy Birthday for yesterday Dami.

Yes, it was a lovely day and some wonderful autumn colours on display out on my walk.

Today not so clever, although the worse from the warm front has passed through overnight. We're now in the more fragmented rainfall from the cold front. Hopefully some sunshine by this afternoon.

Can you not postpone it for a couple of weeks? Reckon you’d stand a better chance of a frost by December

We were so lucky last year to get that snow just at the right time for some of our annual pre Christmas festivities- this was  Waddesdon the day we went, I won’t be expecting a repeat this year !

Bit of a cool down on the cards from next weekend, which is ideal for those thinking about putting Christmas decorations up, going to Christmas markets and so on.

Hopefully no cold rain to go with it!

I always pinpoint from this weekend onwards to start chasing the wintery dream! Think the 2009/10 spell started that for me Last year on Sunday December 11th I just about got home before it started pouring down with snow at about 6pm.

Regarding the December snowfall last year, does anyone have any notes of frosts prior to that? If at all?

P.S The MAD thread starting to get into full swing...It'll be a long Winter for some

Saw this amazing pale rainbow on my dawn walk at 07:15 today. Was visible for over 20 minutes.

Well there is a buzz in anticipation of a cold spell, I’m all for dry cold frosty, be lovey if everything dried out a bit! My sister who lives up near Onley sent these stunning sky photos on her early morning dog walk.

I think we are saved, during this season, by the highlights thread - it prevents a lot of unnecessary scrolling! Grey here, again. Looking forward to cold and frosty weather. Visiting my niece in Brighton tomorrow where it might be rather bracing:)

Yes, lots of ups and downs obviously. I Keep checking the met office forecast on their website, not the most accurate, but it's stayed pretty much the same for my location for next week temps 5 or 6 maxes and 1 or 2 at night. Mostly dry except Monday when rain is forecast.

So despite all the excitement in the model thread I would say cold - yes, frosty - possibly, snow - no. That's for here anyway. I guess we'll see what happens.
