Frost still on the ground in the shade of the north facing front garden, shows how fast ground temps can drop off even after such a mild autumn

Peaked here at 6.9c a degree warmer than predicted. Lets see what the night brings!

Nice and sunny all day, makes a huge difference to how it feels inside. Reached 6.9°C but definitely on the slide since the sun went round. Currently 4.5°C

First frost of the winter here last night. Normally we get our first frost some time in mid November.

Everything was well thawed by mid-morning. Peak temp today seems to have tickled 6 degrees but 5 degrees for most of the day. The cloud cover spoiled the day a bit, but still nice nonetheless.

Cold Spell Objective 1 complete: a frost - currently -2.0c - hopefully it will still be there by first light.

Took until midnight to reach -2.0C. It's already -2.0C this evening after a high of just over 4C.

Just dropped below freezing for the first time this season. Took longer than it looked like it would a few hours ago. -0.1°C

For some reason it's only reached -2.3C, almost three hours later under clear skies. Go figure.

And then a 0.7C drop to -3.0C within the hour.

Hey everyone! How are we all? Just signed in for the first time this year.. took me a while to figure out how to post.. had to “join” the group.. what’s that about?! Can’t believe I’ve been a member for 14 years 😲

How’s everyone doing? Feeling Christmassy yet? Excited for the cold?

It’s about time isn’t it? Just wish it wasn’t when the bills are so expensive! Hope you are all good?

Evening all, stunning sunset tonight. Stopped on the way home from work to take a few pics (quality not great using a phone) This is on top of the Mendips, from here on a clear day you can see across the levels and the Severn, to Wales on the other side. Glastonbury Tor looked stunning silhouetted against the red sky, bit too far away to get a good pic with my phone, really must remember to keep a camera in the car.
