Dorset has done very well for storms so far this year!

Hope we still have some energy left in the SE..

My earlier conveyed reservations about the French clag seemingly coming to fruition for the SE - nothing was meant to happen until around 00z anyway, however just a feeling…

In Somerset, near Glastonbury this evening, on family break, hence not doing storm forecasts last few days, but got this lot heading towards me from the south, lightning and deep booms getting closer.

It’s not as frequent as the other week but still great to see. Lightning maps is picking lightning near Salisbury which presumably is in the anvil judging by the radar.

Hmmm. Looks like i should have gome west. Early yet but worrying how activity in the southeast is struggling somewhat.

I've set up the livestream again if anyone wants to watch along for any flashes or anything!

That was the weirdest start to a storm. Uniform alto status (did not look exciting) and no darkening to the horizon. Very still, then pockets of lightning almost overhead for 5 minutes before any rain.

This live webcam looks out across the English Channel, at Isle of Wight Pearl in Brighstone near Compton. Check it out!

I'm parked a mile away from there, overlooking it in fact!

Channel is starting to light up out there! Can't believe this is the third time I'm out doing this in just a month...

I rarely stray down south but as luck would have it I’m in East London tonight. Have seen a couple of very distant flashes.

Elevated storms for sure as people seeing a lot more than what’s being detected

To the best of my knowledge, everything I've seen this evening has been intra-cloud.

Just had a few flashes to the north of me...heavy showers have brewed out of nowhere

Nothing on detectors which makes me think very elevated

Completely dead in the SE. Surely this can’t be it?

Convective drops of rain falling now. Definitely need a dousing for the garden.

There's lightning in the channel off Dover elevated stuff

Very slow moving north though isn’t it. Mind you at least the jubilee concert has stayed dry. Would have been crap if it had lashed down
