Seeing faint flashes and distant rumbles but have no idea where it's coming from. I'm at least 50 miles from the nearest storm.

Nothing directly in Reigate. I'm glad my previous posts were proven wrong. But the Reigate Storm Shield is holding out and preventing anything here just yet.

On the plus side, I have permission from my long suffering wife to wait up and see if anything turns up.

The rumbles are getting more deeper & longer which is nice to hear, but it’s mainly flashes. Barely any CGs at the moment. The ships are slowly disappearing in the wall of rain.

Slept through those earlier flashes recorded close to my area - no rain here despite the radar.

Am being treated though to flashes over London currently though little on the detectors so far

That's weird. This webcam shows nothing, and it's a Solent view!

Based on the latest radar This is the approximate path. Looking like I am actually in for a chance now to see something ! ⚡

Woken up, and seeing loads of flashes to the East. I fear I’ve missed the chance to Intercept it however! Lovely distant viewing still. More to come by the look of it further S!!

Someone else may know better but as it's a Solent View camera on the Isle of Wight it should be facing north away from where the lightning is, currently.

Just got to my veiwpoint up at devil's dyke and seen some big cgs just to the west of the wind farm off the Sussex coast. Will make a move down to Hove seafront shortly. This is game on.

I’m Hayling East - the camera just showed some flashes but it’s definitely died down now. Rain is quite heavy and I’m in the boot of my car

Looks like I'm only going to be seeing distant flashes as I feared, come on Storms

It'll be wider than that with the best of the lightning on its Eastern flank.  I'd have the centre over London then curving up to where the current storms are in Norfolk. It's still set to miss me, however, watch out for HG cells to  initiating over Sussex, Kent and Essex shortly.

Lighting up nicely in Norfolk area and northwest  France

Have been down end of garden for half an hour filming both storms either side of me. The CC lightening is spectacular from both cells! The darkness, silence and nothingness was interrupted with the most vivid CC lightening. Amazing!!

The trajectory is just East of London I'd say. Although I've already been wrong today 😄

Radar stuck on 02.55

Haven’t had this scenario in a while - I’ve got periodic lightning flashes lighting up the sky above me (and the room I’m sat in) but no idea where they’re originating from!

Why are you in the boot?

Because I do not want to get my camera wet. I have it set up so we both stay dry 🙂

Me too, woken up by my strike alert and for what, some distant cloud top flashes in the N Sea. Back to bed.

Woken up and seen a couple of elevated flashes here but no thunder. Radar looks tasty over in the channel though.

It's certainly very, er, flashy even if it's now 50 miles away.

Oh well, second time I've "seen" lightning this year...

Sheringham webcam looks to be picking them up pretty well!
