Something's happening, seen some good flashes in the last few mins - last lot was just west of Long Stratton.

Lightning maps isn't having any of it but my StrikeAlert seems to think something is going on somewhere!

Huge cracks of thunder, proper squall line lightning, unpredictable with loud thunder.

sounds about right for people living in Kent, one part can have the action and the other half is like living in a different climate 😂

This September is throwing up thundstorms almost every night here, amazing.

I have a feeling this could be a new normal if we get very hot, dry summers more frequently

LOUDEST THUNDER I'VE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE, POSITIVE CG FOR SURE, MUST HAVE BEEN METRES AWAY, IMAGINE BEING NEXT TO A JET ENGINE THEN DOUBLE IT, THATS HOW LOUD IT WAS

that must've been the flash I actually saw under my blinds by my window about 5mins ago, loud thunder I heard from that flash

Well nice drop of rain for the gardens. Usual story of videoing with the phone pointing at the sky hoping to catch a strike, then when pausing the vid brilliant fork flash lights up the sky...still at least i saw it this time...so all in all pretty happy. ..amazing second night repeat of the first...not so late thank goodness..bed now..

.... I am now sitting waiting for the AA as I'm not hands on enough to change it myself.

What an experience!

I hope they come quickly.  At least you're not stuck in the middle of nowhere x

Well, I've found some rain, and of course as soon as I take a drive everything dies the death. East Anglia is pants. Even the rain's stopped!

Found it, just down the street from me,80 KA, highest I think I've seen this year in the UK is 30, that tells how powerful it was because I've had some loud thunder this year that came nowhere near even half of that's power.

omgg a surprise storm came bashing into my area and boy was it mad!!! it must've heard me talking bad about them earlier on, oh well, I've just recorded 17mins of the storm and i'm sure glad I did, great flashes of lightning, angry thunder and a LOT of rain. I'll be definitely uploading the video later on when it's day time 😄

Watching a cell in the channel produce bright IC lightning every 2 seconds, after 3 direct hits and a phenomenal, distant sunset-lit display earlier in the evening. What an event, truly lost for words!!

Edit: make that every 1.5 seconds...

Bit late to the party tonight as out on a suprise chase and thought this lot was heading a little west of me!How wrong I was. Absolute scenes up at my veiwpoint tonight again at devil's dyke just north of hove! Some really decent strikes and some very loud thunder. And the icing on the cake was a huge CG that hit the road about 100yards in front of me on the A27 on my way to ditchling beacon! If I had dash cam it would have been phenomenal! I've got directly under 2 storms in less than 24 hours and only had to travel about 30miles over the 2 nights. Might even have a dig on the lottery at the weekend! Hope people who went out again tonight got lucky and the mid Sussex storm shield has been completely obliterated over the last 2 nights!

Anyone east of Hastings along to Kent should be seeing a nasty little storm in the channel approaching the Dover straight,I can see the sky flickering constantly from here and I'm over 40 miles away!

Nice mate glad to hear you're getting a good one! Had some very loud thunder here in West Sussex earlier and even saw a cg hit the carriageway as I was driving to another location,if only I had dash cam!

Lying in bed and watching the lightning, feels like it could go on for hours, I first saw lightning around half 8PM yesterday, for almost 5 hours it has been nearly constant IC lightning with some CG lightning mixed in and the odd loud rumble of thunder (and the one shotgun positive CG that was just down the road), yet I've still somehow ended up with very little rain out of this and am very confused as to how.

10/10 lightning

2/10 precipitation
