What a week, feel a bit sad to see it go. Easily the most active week of the year and has done something to recover what has been a poor season.

I witnessed 5 thundery episodes in 5 days.

Monday 5th early am - Northamptonshire

Monday 5th evening- Worcestershire

Wednesday afternoon- Derbyshire

Thursday afternoon- South/East Yorkshire

Friday afternoon - At home in Belper

A lot more storms today than I expected. I wasn't chasing but luckily one came to me.

I have lots of footage to edit, may take a while.

Fingers crossed for next week, although today's runs have generally downgraded the risk. Still a while away though so things can change.

Had storms 5 days in a row here in leicester as well!must be all that energy built up in the atmosphere over the summer😜

Tuesday's 'plume' is touch-and-go on the UKV, as I alluded to being the case in a post last night. Possibly just a channel light show in the offering

That's probably it now for our chance to get anything worth talking about thunderstorm wise for this year.

What a rubbish way to go out of the storm season it's been.

Virtually a whole week of potential and not one day or night of that week delivered.

NOT AMUSED!!!!!!!😡😡😡😡😡😪😪😪😪😪

A little spike of MUCAPE expected Tuesday, although the mean there is a lot lower than a few of the runs which are really going for it, showing the spread of uncertainty. ICON-EU seems to do well in convective set ups and has precip. for all areas M4 south that night. Interested to see whether tonight's ECM and the 15z UKV are interested at all still.

Saw this on earlier on Facebook, not sure where it is though, but it was from yesterday's storms, such a stunning shelf cloud.

There was a shelf in the Swindon area, so it's possibly there, with that photo being from the M4 that runs through there

Might be no lightning but have gotten a load of pictures on my camera but no laptop to upload them too. In my opinion,my best stuff for a while.

Time-lapse, the view from the ground was much better though, especially once the Time-lapse went blurry.

The easiest and most common mistake...which I still make to this day

from earlier this week in the heat of Battle

It is frustrating. Back in June I drove all the way to Kent to catch a storm. Got parked up, filmed it, drove home feeling happy with what I captured and then came to edit it and realised I'd left the camera on autofocus.

Made the same mistake just this past week, but luckily realised before my entire film was ruined.

Wish my parents liked weather as much as some people on here 🤣, occasionally I have gone garden chasing though and one time did go to the local park to try and get a better view but apart from that, nothing really. I might go to the windmill next time but I'll need a coat (I don't have one I think ) because there's nowhere to hide if I do.

I was lucky,my dad liked a good storm so I've been watching them now for over 30 years. Nothing wrong with a chase in the garden or up the park, seen some really good one's from the park which is only 50 yards from my house. I recommend getting a dry robe and waterproof trousers you don't get wet then. I always take them out when I chase because I go to some pretty exposed locations. Wait till you start driving lad you'll see so much more!

My video of the storms on Monday evening around Worcestershire. This is the storm chase which resulted in me doing this to my tyre. Whoops.

Yes that's right.

I hit the kerb whilst trying to drive with almost zero visibility due to rain and wind. Lucky I didn't spin the car. Probably should have just stopped really, until the visibility improved.

Turns out Tennyson Monument has a lightning conductor! A really, subtle small one that I hadn't noticed until now!

Whether this meant I was any safer stood nearby in a CG-fest with a tripod, well, I'm not good enough at physics to know!

Looks to be stuff for the fishes mostly with the Storms possible mid week, riding the coast. Don't think the first batch will have much lightning associated with it. That stuff in the channel may be different but I don't think it will be extremely active.

Yes,might be somthing of interest for 24hrs midday tomorrow onwards.

The updated fax shows the clearance of the cold Front from the North 'dilly-dallying'

An idea that was muted a few days back and dropped, now its back on the menu it would seem?

Together with a push of warm continental air into the far South.
