Using years 2012-2023

January 2013 - Cold and snowy mid-month
February 2019 - Snowy start, then sunny and spring-like from the 11th, leading to a freakishly warm and sunny end
March 2012 - Last 12 days were freakishly warm and sunny. It was warm and sunny on other days earlier on, mixed with some fog. 2022 deserves some applause too
April 2015 - I woulsd have picked 2020 if it wasnt for the lockdown, but this was still a lovely April in many ways
May 2018 - A classic month, honestly exceptional for not only warmth and sunshine, but also thunderstorms. 2020 and 2023 also deserves appreciation
June 2023 - Spring-like start, then heatwave from the 9th-25th, with some thunderstorms in between. A new-classic June. 2014, 2015 and 2018 also deserves appreciation
July 2014 - This July is often forgotten, but it was still a warm., sunny and thundery one. Not too many humid nights or temeprature extremes. Honestly, better than July 2013, 2018 and 2022
August 2022 - Best August since 1995, especially the heatwave in the 2nd week. 2013, 2016 and 2019 deserves some applause
September 2020 - Felt like an extension of summer up until the 22nd, then autumnal. 6th sunniest on record. I would have picked 2023, but I used it for June
October 2016 - October 2018 was even better but I used it for May. Still, this month was nice because it was dry. Basically an October version of February 2023
November 2021 - Mild and dry until the 20th, then a cold and snowy end. A decent month in my opinion
December 2017 - I would have used 2014 but I used it for July. Good snowy period mid-month, but the rest of the month was mild, and also wet sometimes

March 95 to Feb 96, topsy tury spring with snowy cold outbreaks and early heat i.e. early May. A superb warm dry summer. Mixed autumn. Great winter, lots of cold and snow, but not too severe.

As a whole, another 2010, but swap the summer for that of 95.

My alternative ideal year using years 2012-2023, as well as using different months to my first pick

January 2021 - A cold January, especially the first half, with periods of interesting wet and windy weather. There were 3 seperate snow events that month (2nd, 14th and 24th). Had pretty much everything. Some more sunshine would have made it perfect

February 2012 - A freezing cold and snowy first half, where I recorded -7c on many nights. Second half was mild, dry and felt like an early arrival of spring. Just like January, I wish there was more sunshine to accompany this, but that will do

March 2022 - A bit of everything that month, going from cold and wet, to warm and sunny, to cold and snowy. There were 12 consecutive days of almost unbroken skies, and temperatures getting close to 20c, quickly followed by snow. 2nd sunniest March on record

April 2019 - A mixed first half, starting with April showers, then some warm sunshine around the 8th, followed by bright and frosty weather in the following few days. The Easter weekend was record breakingly warm and sunny, and then came thudnerstorms on the 25th. A very good month overall

May 2020 - I am reluctant to use lockdown months, but this was a spectacular May, and doesnt need any more explanation. I wish July was like this instead

June 2015 - Despite being a cool month, I loved this because it was sunny and dry, and it felt like what May should have been, Springlike!!!!! I had thunderstorms on the 13th, and a heat spike in the last 2 days as well

July 2013 - A hot and sunny month, which felt like a relief from the 6 poor summers before it. Big thunderstorms on the 23rd and some more afterwards. Best July ever!!!! (Tied with 2014)

August 2016 - A decent August, which was the best since 2003. Plenty of sunshine and pleasant temepratures. Hotter on the 23rd and 24th, then thundery on the 27th

September 2023 - Heatwave at the beginning, which would be incredible even in July and August. Mixed second half with thunderstorms and useable, bright weather

October 2018 - The best October since 1995, and should have been swapped with April that year. 4th sunniest on record, and had a mix of warm and sunny conditions, wet and windy conditions, and cold and frosty conditions

November 2017 - A month which contained everything, which is always better than those boring, monotone Novembers. 2016 and 2023 are other candidates

December 2014 - Despite being mild, the month was still dry and sunny. Felt spring-like at times. The last week was cold, bright and snowy too

i don't think you can beat 1995 for a year that pretty much had everything from start to finish

Surprised at 2023 to be honest! Here it was essentially three weeks of wet and windy, a brief spell of mild and dry, and then finally cold but rather cloudy or dull. Slightly better than 2022 as the drier spell at the end was a bit longer, but fairly poor overall. I do agree about 2016 and 2017 though. November 2013 was another relatively "good" one in the last 12 years. The first 9 days were very wet but then it suddenly changed to sunny and cold on the 10th.

A brilliant month. After a very mild (and at times freaky) October, November felt very seasonable. I remember bright weather early in the month and generally chilly weather persisting throughout the middle of the month. There was a brief mild turn which I remember some posters being miserable about, but the final week was excellent with very cold northerly winds. The 30th brought heavy snow showers where I was living in northwest Kent and though I can't remember too much of whether it settled, it was bitterly cold. Fond memories of the autumn of 2017 as it had a bit of everything. That snowfall was a preview to being absolutely pasted on the 10th and 11th of December. Not the worst winter ever but spoiled by a mild January. I did see snow in November, December, January (maybe), February and March of that season though.
