Had no rain from the back end of June through to mid August, we kept missing whatever little rain was to be had.

Odiham weather station went from 1st July through to 17th August with no rain recorded (I believe 47 days?) My area went a hair longer as we missed some rainfall at the very end of June. It was exceptional, we lost even bigger bodies of water, and the grass went beyond both 18 and what we have right now.

Ah sorry, I think I may have got confused, I thought you were referring to 2018! That's what the more significant system on July 29 referred to.

Reached 39 days without any quantifiable rainfall. Yesterday brought 11mm.

Seems most places received a good dose of rain yesterday breaking the long dry spell, though I expect some far southern and eastern parts may still be waiting for a decent amount.

A grand total of 6mm this month.

Still… wetter than 2018 which had a mere 2mm!

Finally a good dosing of rain, about 10mm fell here. Hopefully the vegetation enjoys it, not sure it will do too much for the bodies of water that are already drying out mind you.

After that almost 15mm dumping on Sunday night I was expecting the path into the village to be a mudbath, but its dry and you'd never know it actually rained!

I think these convective heavy rainfalls just run off and do little for topping anything up. We'd need a few days of consistent rain with little evaporation for that.

Since the long spell without rain broke on 18th June, we've since had 181.4mm in 49 days!

The trend of one extreme to the other seems to be continuing.
