Gutted, still no thunderstorms here in Exeter and so humid….we desperately need the rain and would rather the thunderstorm kind

Unreal, looks frightening on radar, near constant thunder, monsoon like too, not many lightning flashes though

I have seen some models on and off hinting at the potential for some convective rainfall to spread up from France across the south. I think the chances are very low, but more than happy to keep my fingers crossed 😊🤞🤞🤞

Ye most of them hinted at developments starting on S coast around/near IOW area 2300-0000hrs moving W/NW from there (rather than spreading in from N France). This is similar to the MetO rain warning overnight. But the same outputs have been quite wrong for me today with everything quite a bit further N/NE to what was shown. If nothing is developing by then I think I'll call it a night and just see if tomorrow brings anything. 😄

I'll be amazed if it gets this far west. That said. I'm sat here in my front room and I can see it to the east. Just feels to cool here for it not to thin out as it slowly drifts across.

Needs to break the Stoke shield before it has a chance, it's been hovering for 40 mins outside it

It is too far south if anything to get up here.  Needs development over the Peaks and that's is not happening

Rumbling nicely over here, not sure if it's passing to the east though

We haven't had any hail (yet) i think it was just the amount of rain, the roof gutters are overflowing, garden is flooding and the street is getting a bit waterlogged now

Hail roar is the noise of hail from within the storm cloud.

I’ve also heard that this was a glitch, but doesn’t explain away that several models have aligned to the possibility.

works for me 😃

Thunder less frequent now, a few flashes, rain not too heavy, starting to die.

Core seems to of past me now, still some flashes from CC strikes but looks like they are moving further away rain has also decreased.

Apologies for the awful photography skills here but look it's my first time 😂 Managed to capture some of a CC fork, Anyone got advice for trying to capture lightning?
