seems to be a repeat of yesterday afternoon at the moment, storms tracking along the same path NNE over Shropshire, up to Chester and into Merseyside. Unless there is eastern development then its all going to miss us again.

Some nice forks and booms coming out of this. Then the massive wind gusts came along with a bit of rain and had to run inside lol.

Small thunderstorm rolling up the severn estuary that may just clip me, but looking like more Chepstow side.

could confirm thunder from it, as I got called into CBYC earlier, to sort out a issue with my sea cadet units motor launch which another unit was borrowing. - easily fixed though

Hi @Dangerous55019 Yes there seemed to be storms developing all around us but now easing off. Nothing really over head. Seen some good forks and booms of thunder. Not as good as yesterdays storm with the continuous thunder for an hour non stop lol.

Oooooo Just had a massive flash ⛈️ then and BOOM! Made me jump haha 😂

Probably the most interesting sky here since May, that’s how poor it’s been down here this year.

We don’t get the Chinooks too often, but two flying side by side came over a few weeks ago in the middle of the night. Now that was loud!! Sometimes we get the fighter jets from Anglesey if they’re on training flights. I’ve noticed a lot more military activity too especially looking at Flightradar24 around the country.

I live on the flight path of military traffic flying in and out of middle wallop and Salisbury etc so I get a low flying chinook almost every single night lol. Shakes the house.

When I lived in Whitchurch, my mum and dad used to know a chinook pilot and he would fly extra low over our back garden which was pretty awesome

That’s awesome! Those two Chinooks flying side by side were about 2500 feet and were so loud they shook the house. It was such a strange time to come over, about 1am, especially making that racket!! Thankfully I was still awake and my little lad didn’t wake up lol

Look on the metadata for the picture - it will tell you exactly when it was!

You missed off 'pestilence' 😉

Hi Chapmanslade,

Thanks for your suggestion but I had already done this before posting the question. Unfortunately i couldn’t find the original as i thought it was 2018
according to the photo information when i had checked it said 1st May at 18.54 soo thought i May have screenshot it as the information was only 653KB

if indeed that was the date would  you or Andy Brown be able to find radar images of that memorable small cell.
thanks if you can

Maybe it was from this, wasn't sure if it was accurate.
