West is best currently for the heavier snowfall Cheshire West, Wirral & Merseyside - just on the edge here light - moderate bursts but a covering now & also in Crewe by the looks of the rail cam.

Hopefully a few more hrs yet of snow the stuff moving out of NI looks interesting but not sure it’s got our name on it?

Time for a brew as no chance of sleep now.

Quality not the best because it's dark but hopefully you can make it out.

Met text forecast.

"Today:

An icy start with wintry showers in places, and also a local covering of snow. More general periods of snow developing through the day, perhaps turning to rain in coastal regions. Travel disruption is possible. Becoming windier and feeling cold. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

A wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow this evening with further travel disruption likely. Gradually turning drier overnight with icy stretches developing. Very cold with a severe frost developing. Minimum temperature -7 °C.

Wednesday:

Frosty with icy surfaces at first, then a crisp winter's day with plenty of sunshine. Staying generally dry but a rogue light snow flurry couldn't be entirely ruled out. Cold. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Largely sunny and cold on Thursday with scattered snow flurries, these perhaps heavy and frequent later. Sunny spells and less cold on Friday, then wet, windy and milder on Saturday."

not bad, still a bit conservative... I can't stand the term wintery showers!
