This will possibly have an effect on Sheffield.  Interesting that the Met are slow of the mark again.

Blowing a hoolie here (Isle of Man) and lashing with rain. Barometer must have dropped as I now have a headache. Can hear the wind in the trees through closed windows. Forecast gale 9 gusts. Wild and not wooly!

Wind picked up a little but mainly it's the rain that's the issue.

Do you use a weather station or hand held anemometer to measure these winds?

Didn’t get much here with most top gusts  around the 30mph level. The highest gust I got up the road was 33.3mph but I got many 29mph gusts.

There may have been a very brief period of 35 or 40mph gusts not long after I came in to have dinner as it did sound quite loud but I don’t know for certain as I was in the kitchen.

Quite a lot of damage from a Tornado in Ireland today Sunday 10th December.

Nick's forecast mentions the tornado risk.

Edit:

Wrong thread this is from the low named Fergus.
