Not sure exactly where to post this. But I’m sure I’ve just seen the very illusive and Rare Nacreous clouds here above Bredon Hill on the Worcestershire/ Gloucestershire border which is an outlier of the Cotswolds. I’m not sure how rare it is to see over this way or this far south, but I’m sure it’s Nacreous clouds because I’ve seen photos of them . Anyway , here is a couple of pics ……

Leicestershire this afternoon.  What causes it?

Basically Stratospheric clouds. These clouds are made of tiny ice crystals, but rare as the height of these clouds is about 3 times the height of Everest where it's so cold below minus 80c, where little if any moisture can form. These are very rare and even more so further south you go! But absolutely beautiful photos ,these clouds are more rare than hens teeth so make sure you treasure them ,it may be you'll never see them again in you're life time especially in southern Britain. ...☺

wish I'd photo'd 'em, thought at first it was iridescence type thing, low cloud though was whizzing across, but were still good here

We had the most amazing experience driving from Norfolk to Nottinghamshire this evening.

The following photos were taken from the front passenger seat and are straight out of the camera, no edits.

I'm in South Yorkshire. This morning I was getting the kids ready for school (hence no photos and I'm kicking myself)......from the kitchen window my 6 year old son spotted what turned out to be 2 rectangular areas of blue sky in an otherwise grey sky. Where the grey sky met the blue sky on each of the 4 sides of these rectangular areas was like looking at a rainbow. I wish I'd got a photo as my description is awful and it's the weirdest thing I've ever seen but the kids were driving me mad! 😂

They were kind of like 2 rectangle shaped "hole punch" clouds with rainbow colours around the edge.
