Wind is now howling outside. Already taken out one sidegate and not near the peak forecast yet. Power remains on for now. Stay safe, kilters.

Wind just getting up here now in the last few minutes. As an aside the temp has just reached 10C for the first time this year.

This is concerning. Current disruptive stuff is looking sustained for days. Definitely preferred the cauld spell - any sign yet of a return  to cauld in Feburary @Kirkcaldy Weather?

Its getting wild outside big gusts...various bits of the house is creaking and the kitchen hood vent is making strange sounds, I expect I'll have to go and find the bins in the morning as they sit on the drive and get the full skelp of the wind.

Mild as hell though its showing 10.5 deg/C outside...quite a contrast to last week.

Looking into Monday the wind will die down a bit but still pretty high, tomorrows commute will be interesting on the motorway.

Wildest I remember for a few years. Just been out to secure the pizza oven which, despite the weight in it and the stand not even having 4 wheels, was on its way across the patio. Could barely get the outward opening patio doors which are facing directly into the wind open.

One try at Glasgow, then south for one try of runway 21 at Prestwick before ending up in Manchester after declaring an emergency (presumably fuel). Pilot of the night goes to Jet2 from Prague who I think has been the only one to get into Glasgow tonight.

Just lost a fence.

Went out to turn off my motion sensor motorbike alarm. It was going off constantly but only heard it in the quiet spells. Alarm is 110 decibels. While I was turning it off a very large section of fence was blown over 20 feet away from me. Don't go out unless it's essential.

I'm the only one awake in my house, even the dog has conked out. Every time I try to drop off I hear an ominous clunk or bang from outside.

9.7 degrees, pressure 967mb... r/h in the house has dropped from 63% to 56% in an hour..? 

Quite a few trees down locally but doesn't sound that bad in the house, must be sheltered in this wind direction.

Issued that late that most people won't even notice it. I know they must be reacting to latest data though. 

Doesn't seem overly bad here but maybe we're sheltered a bit from a direct southerly, and not due to peak here for an hour or two. Only one flicker of the lights, and that was around 8pm. Going to sleep now, with the hope we wake up still having power.

Taybridge closed completely. That means a gust over 80 mph.

The power here went off at 10.30pm and just came back on after midnight. It's still windy my local station showing gusts around 66 to 71mph in the past hour.

The kids wooden playhouse has just lost part of its roof. My plastic shed is still standing.... So far. 

Some bad flooding in coastal areas and lots of trees down. Probably could've been a red warning for coastal Ayrshire and the west coast... Not surprised to see a red for the north, that area has been showing gusts over 100mph on UKV for the last few days (although the worst was just offshore)

My parents have lost a couple of fence panels and part of their conservatory roof is damaged allowing rain to get in. I am glad I am off work this week so hopefully I can get everything repaired but looks like another storm is possible on Tuesday

Congratulations @Northern Strath, in some ways this time of year is the best time to have a new arrival as you can just hunker down for a couple of months.  My not so little one turns 28 this week and arrived in snowy conditions back in 1996.

A wee bit gusty outside just now, pressure currently 994 and temperature 9c.

Flight from Seville to Edinburgh has had a change of plan by looks of it, no idea where it's heading as climbed back up to 33,000 feet and out over the North Sea.

Switching off for the night now and keeping everything crossed that there's no damage here in the morning.
