Today

Wore the speedos...think it went down well with the ladies as they all pointed, looking surprised saying "will you just look at that". It's nice that I can bring so much cheer to people. Didn't go on the flume as it was a long way to the top and I couldn't be bothered. Spent most of the time in the nice warm spa pools until a nappy came off and some brown was spotted floating. Babbydoodledoo's got a chest infection. Took her to see the out of hours doctor this afternoon (good to know that if you

Boring Saturday

Well had a boring day wandering round the Designer Outlet with Mum-in-law and Little Man. It wasn't boring because I was with them but I just wasn't inspired to spend a small fortune on clothes that I didn't particularly like Went to the Cadbury outlet shop though Bought some fruit allsorts which I have never tried before....strange I think the jury is out as to wheather or not I like them. It's cold and wet outside so I think tonight we will just keep warm and watch the telly. Bought a

Today

Had my hair cut at Creations in Penrith by a young girl who was clearly suffering from canine distemper. It's a long time since I've had anyone blow the cut hair from the back of my neck, but how else would she have splattered me with her virus-ridden saliva? At least she didn't take the clippers to my eye brows like the last lot in Carlisle. Didn't leave a tip as she'll be dead by the morning. Going to Center Parcs for the day tomorrow and might even try the flume again. Remeber the time when H

Today

Ran out of Tiger Tim firelighters this morning (the ones individually wrapped in silver foil) and had to resort to common Zip firelighters which have the drawbacks of not being very flammable and of leaving nasty little bits of firelighter under your fingernails. Had trouble even getting the match to the firelighter in the first place as the downdraft from the chimney was quite strong....may have to thing about a cowl. That's enough excitement for one day.

Life...

Been a bit of time since I last wrote anything, so thought I'd better have a go...Well, being preggers is becoming even more strange....have now added occasional hot flushes to the repertoire, along with joint ache and the occasional stitch in my side....still finding it tricky to sleep at night, although sleeping in the day is dead easy (and because I don't sleep at night, I'm desperately trying not to sleep during the day, so I just end up being tired 24/7....)Went to see mortgage peeps today.

Had a buzy old week last week trying to sort things out for Year end at work.My big boss burst into the office yesterday (he's a big guy) and said "I hear congratulations are in order" What ? "Balancing the cash last week" Oh right, for a second there I thought he meant something else Then later on my line manager locked me in the office by accident and I had to break out It's never dull being an accountant

Sunny Day

Well today was nicer than expected Hazy sunshine which certainly attracted the bikers enmass (to the town not my house) Little fella is already exploiting the fact he has his grandma looking after him for the next 2 weeks and is milking every chance of attention We had a bubble blowing session this morning with him using the lots of bubbles blower and me using the MEGA bubbles blower (size of ballons unbelieveble ) anyway one of our +80 neigbours came out and gave me a stern look as it t

Singing

Well I had to wait in at home yesterday morning for a bed to be delivered so managed to get some painting done to the dinning room (no more bright orange). I'm hoping to finish it off today so we can get back to normality.I raced off to work after the delivery men had been. There was nothing on the radio, just Jo Whiley wittering on about some band which were dreadful so put a CD on. So there I am singing my heart out to Tears for Fears as loud as I can without a care in the world. Then I notice

Theory Test

I had to make a trip to Preston Town Centre today to do my theory test for the DSA. I found a polite traffic warden which surprised me, but Preston town, sorry city centre doesn't live up to its title of Britains newest city!Anyway I passed the test first time getting 34/35 for the theory and 55/75.I was told I'd failed as an April Fools though, an there's me thinking all these DSA people lived in caves and couldn't have a laugh.

Grey Days

When did I last see the sun? It seems like weeks ago Really busy at work and will be for at least the next 6 weeks but then I am going to have a short holiday - nothing exciting just time at home with little man I'm really looking forward to the longer nights and time in the garden/conservatory, it feels like there is so much more time in the day when it's lighter at night.Looks like Baby Chat is a big success on NW, seems like we are having a bit of a run on babies at the moment

Sleepy....

hello, haven't done this for a week...oops! Been quite busy, working, sleeping (my new hobby) and looking for houses....Spent much of the weekend sifting through housing papers and looking them on the web....NOW I realise why they say St. Albans is around the second most expensive place in the country! Owch!Oh well, at least we've got good salaries, but I really do wonder how on earth people who are earning less, or indeed anyone younger than their 30s manages...it really is soooooo expensive....

Ice Cream Vans

Why is it that in the age of polyphonic ring tones on mobile do Ice cream vans still have that awful plinky plonky music, I find it quite demonic and scary (too much Chitty Chitty Bang Bang)I've finally had enough of the orange dining room and decided to attack it (well it's Easter and DIY is traditional activity at Easter) Hubbie has red/green colour blindness and decided to paint it when I was 8 months pregnant. He knows things are a certain colour just not quite how much of a colour they are,

Birthday Pressies

Well I got some vouchers for my birthday so went off to spend them yesterday.Bought Jem - excellent CD, as hubbie said "more like Dido than Dido" and Prince, which is long overdue to be added to my CD collection. It took me back to my mispent youth when I got told off for writing the lyrics to 1999 in maths "yes Katie you were dreaming when you wrote this" So me and Milo were dancing around the kitchen to Let's go Crazy and the neighbours thought I was

Weeks Weather

Interesting past week's weather.I spotted a large funnel cloud on Wednesday then contemplated staying up all night to see if the South West thunderstorms would reach up here, I don't know why because they never do in summer. Just a bit of rain. Then I did the same on Thursday, again after hours of waiting a shower. The only thunderstorms I get here are home grown ones, thanks to the valleys . They get quite nasty as well and are only small and because there covering such a small area they're u

Good Friday

This should have been posted on Friday but I didn't do something correctly Well got up early to try to beat the crowds at Tesco, unfortunately a few other people had the same idea Headed off to York only to find the road shut as they had discovered the body of the missing girl from Hull. It 's very sad and makes me shudder to think I must have driven past her body umpteem times in the last few weeks My thoughts are with the familiy, who at last can start to grieve properly. Got back to fi

Grrrrrrrrrrr......

I'm just going to have a little moan here....Having said that I didn't think a joke about Liverpool was in particularly good taste (remember the Spectator, etc) suddenly the thread goes nuts and before I know it, we're into the realms of political correctness and bring back golliwogs....My goodness!I get really, really, p'd off with people who have a go at political correctness and cite lunatic examples like whiteboards, etc....that is NOT what it's about....it's about respecting each other and

Tired

hello all.....well my brain appears to ahve come back on line a little bit, which is very nice. I'm starting to think it was probably stunned into inoperation by the thought of pregnancy...I've never really thought of myself as the maternal type IYKWIM....spent a lot of years working, me and Mr Roo have been together for ages without geting wed or feeling a great urge to prodcue mini-roos.....but now that it's happening, I'm really getting used to the idea....I'm actually starting to feela litt

Colds !

Well I am finally getting over my cold, not a nice sight My 3 year old is a constant source of strange observations. His latest profound statement was (and after a long think about it)"Dogs don't like jam" Well what can you sayHe also insisted he had his goodnight kiss. I told him I couldn't cos I had a cold"You're not cold, your warm" aww...bless him I never considered myself as a maternal person but since he started to get his own personality I just bore everyone to death about his lates

Hello Again!

hi all, been awol for a little bit mainly due to the whole expecting a sprog thing which has completely and utterly addled my brain and left me dazed and stoopid! I am now having to rely on post it notes 24/7 otherwise I forget all the time...This is a pretty major thing for me as I'm usually pretty quick and have a very good memory, but not no more, oh noooooo! For example, when I went into work today, I even forgot the name of one of my colleagues who I have known for 10 years!!!!! I'm hoping
