Absolutely tipping down, horrid outside.  At least it looks like it will clear through later, some fields are still water logged here.

Morning all.

Broken cloud and dry 4°C

Noticed the gritters had been sent out from Tameside as I spotted one coming down to the Derbyshire border which starts at Woolley Bridge.

It was clear and starry last night around 9pm.

4" of rain in January doesn't sound too bad.

Cumbria and Wales can easily get that in one sitting.

Super City last night. I listened to it whilst pottering about doing the never ending list of house chores.

Had Worse good game… should’ve been more than 3 goals… and a bit of a lapse at back to let Burnley score… but great to see De Bruyne and Haaland back as well as Stones… the pace of Doku wow 🤩 onwards and upwards… next game not until Monday away… has felt like ages since last home game…

yes 4 inches isn’t overly wet for January… comparatively previous months through December having had 6-8 inches… did enjoy the colder sunnier period mid month… more of that please for February 🤞🤞🤞☀️❄️🥶🧊

Pinch 🤏🏼 punch 🥊 first of the month

PS thanks Jo Farrow 👌 just updated highest gust in mainland Norway 🇳🇴 being 139 mph

Still bags of interest for our neck of the woods by mid next week, could be rain, could be snow, could be both.

Day 10 Yep looking good. Will be high-risk high reward but should be lots of fun.

It was certainly a wet and quite windy short trip to Nantwich last night, but not half as wet and windy as Mrs FLT found on the M6 and M62. A bit surprised to see a slight frost this morning, but quickly disappeared and a nice start to the day although the sun is already getting a bit hazy.

Day 10 same here, 🎵 We hope it's snow, it's snow........ I remember the advert well.

Cold start min of 1.4°C and was sunny.  Currently 7.3°C and has been mostly cloudy,  it's dry.

Mod thread getting more animated🙂

Tuesday 6th to Thursday 15th Feb

Most likely unsettled at first for much of the UK. Turning colder across northern areas with showers, which will turn wintery at times especially over higher ground but to lower levels at times too. Cloud and rain being pushed in from the Atlantic may well be forced to track further south across the south of the country where it may remain milder but with more persistent rain, especially in the west. Exactly where the boundary between these two regimes lies is still rather uncertain at the moment. However, there is a chance of wintery conditions developing more widely across the northern edge of this boundary through the second half of next week for a time.

Yes, MOD thread getting very interesting indeed. Both UKMO and GFS are doing some serious teasing.

Glorious charts 7 days out which will probably end up skirting the South Coast or N.France when T+0 arrives.

Had Worse  eye candy indeed but far too far away to take any real notice…come 18z it’ll be in the highlands or northern France….46.8 cm for here 😂🤣😂🤣 and no south easterly wind… bonus 👌👍🤣😂 and we’ve got 1230pm kickoff City vs Everton (10th) so will be leaving 1030 am… shovels

 Had Worse

not sure the current charts are sinkers, not the way the GFS is showing it, more the positioning west to east will be more important.

a low sitting of the was is ideal for the north west.

 Had Worse

That forecast is pretty uncanny considering the GFS and U.K. Met runs
