Snow up the Cat & Fiddle at least. Looks wet judging by how it's sticking to the camera.

And up the M62 at J22. That's about 350m.

Hilarious 😂. Don't think it'll be as good as the spell last month. The temp was -1C for the whole time it snowed, looks quite marginal at 3C.

Just pure cold wet rain here, not even sleet.  Just heading out to work (driving job) so in some ways quite relieved due to our nations complete inability to get the network moving in anything near a cm in depth.  GM Shield doesn't look to be working now it's pure rain.

Can I describe it as light sleet or light snow, probably a mix.. current temp around 2 degrees. As said evaporative cooling is the key factor today, any heavier precipitation should bring heavier snow.. we shall see what develops.

The Welsh hills are eating up the heavier precip, coming in at the wrong angle for here, can't see it now.

Definitely more marginal than even the most conservative of forecasts - sleety rain in Sandbach, just plain cold rain in Crewe just 10m lower in elevation.

Not even marginal here just rain. DPs too high. Met Office automated apps do go for it turning wintry. Just raining in places like Bala in Gwynedd that are under an amber warning so it's a failure for them at this stage.

Pouring it down (with rain) in Manchester.

What has happened to the shield? Just trying to learn more about it. 👍😊

At Fitton Hill doing the College run.

Big flakes mixed with sleet and smaller ones.

Wind is getting up. Was calm earlier.

Down to 2.1C here and rain has turned very slightly sleety.

If the air was colder(negative DP), it would be drier therefore a rainfall shadow would be more obvious but because the air is not that cold the shadow is less pronounced although clearly going by reports there is some evaporation going on so it's not a massive of PPN as the radar suggests.
