Looks like I was right. Rain now forecast for most of the day and is creeping into tomorrow. Early next week looks like January. This weather would put you into an early grave.

Managed to time my walk from the car to the dentist perfectly with a heavy shower but it was dry and bright again when I came back out and drove home again.

Best day of the month yesterday.  Stayed dry, odd burst of sun, max 17.3°C.  Despite a dry day, one of my sisters gardens is still under water.

Rain this am, 11.3°C.

A few sporadic bits and pieces of rain here, but the Welsh Hills are doing a good job of gobbling the worst of it, and then its developing again as it hits the Peaks/Pennines.

severe snowstorm yes,  horrid here, another heavy shower as I type,  feels quite cold too today.  Quite a contrast to Rosthernes' max for the month so far on Thursday of 18.6°C,  then snow showers perhaps on Monday, such extremes.

Rush2019  we really are lucky where we live that everything slopes and the water drains down to the brook at the bottom and although the clay soil never completely dries out, it’s thankfully never under water.

I really do feel for those not so lucky though and lower down in the town centre and more so over the hill in Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and lower down the Calder Valley, flooding is still a major concern when rainfall is particularly heavy.

iand61   yes,  I  have friends with allotments,  they cannot dig or turn the top soil which appears dry enough, just an inch down is water.  One has managed to put beans in, but in raised troughs.  Farming must be suffering immensely.

"Just a weak front affecting the Lake District, which is mostly cloud" they said on the BBC...

Looks like I spoke too soon, the shadow has suddenly broken, raining steadily.

Don't worry, folks, the rain has been ordered in time to spoil tomorrow.

Forecast was pretty bang on, except the light rain started a bit earlier. Hopefully it will clear in an hour or so, looking at the radar this is the last of the heavy on the rain band.

Rush2019 The sodden ground was featured last night on the news. The fields aren't in a condition to plant.

Damp here rather than raining and it looks like are are right on the northern edge of what is currently passing through the region.

Heavy rain here in Marple Bridge.

I'm waiting (in the car) whilst my future daughter in law,  chooses a wedding dress.

Its not a bells and whistles wedding.

Next year my stepson and his new wife are going to Shanghai to have another wedding ceremony making the marriage official in China. My stepson is learning Mandarin.

Some very short lived heavy rain just before lunchtime, but been largely dry since aside from a brief shower just now, the sun trying to make an appearance every now and again.
