That promises snow even down to my modest elevation and is actually reflected as temporary sleet in the MetO output for my location which happens seldom enough so there must be convincing reasons behind it. Yr Wyddfa was already covered this morning.

heads of the valleys getting a right pasting - weird no warnings from the met office - if it was London they'd be all over this but cause it's Wales - no problem lol

Interesting night of weather thats for sure, heavy rain across much of the south, temperatures cool enough for snow in places, and some thunderstorms thrown into the mix too, then strong winds later.

I think the Brecon Beacons will be deep crisp and even by the morning with this front coming through

We got sleet mixed in with a few flakes here, quite heavy, so i can see why its snowing in the valleys! Temp is dropping quickly now, from 7 earlier now down to 3C!

Marcus_surfer Bit late in the day but finally they put one up - however it's also snowing in the south west of England and they haven't put a warning out for that yet

Andy. I apologise for doubting you. There is settling snow outside. I haven’t heard a gritter yet, so the Mountain Road could be nasty in the morning.

Crepuscular Ray no worries - a little bit last minute this time - but embeded cold temps in the low causing this one - a bit unusual because you normally expect "Spanish plumes" with thunderstorms to come up from France in this direction - so it's a bit of a weird set up!

Not the first time during this season that the Met Office have been caught out by developments and had to rush to send out a warning as things are already happen. This one came as an update to another one that never arrived at least in my inbox. What's going on, snowflakes on the ether??🤔😉

A lot of the tv forecasters were making light of tonight's snow potential with the phrase - just a little "wet snow" on the hills - seems it's turned out a little more problematic than that

I see it’s snowing quite a lot towards Bridgend and further east, I’m only a few miles away (and higher up) it’s just sleet
