Measured 7cm just now so an average just under 1cm per hour.

Il be honest I thought this whole event was crap. Even with a couple cm, with temps around 0.4c  and always a wetness to the snow, did not float my boat at all!

No magic to it, just thought if only I was a couple hundred foot higher up. It sucks to be of low altitude lol. Otley 310ft and Guiseley 475ft every snow event I was always just right side of marginal!

We’ve had a lot more than I expected, started settling early afternoon and there’s a good few inches now. Hoping the roads are not too bad because I’m up early tomorrow.

It stopped but has just started again!

It'll be the amount of rain in 24 hours that is the talking point in these parts. Up to 13.2mm and there's that huge band approaching from the south. Wouldn't be surprised to get not far off the entire average February amount in total.

Well, that slightly covered the cars and roads again. Dying down now.

I know that next big batch is rain.

At least it'll all be gone by the time I get up.

Tim A always loved the walk to ASDA at night in the snow, any excuse to walk out in it.

Thawing now with temperature rising to 0.8c. With the rain it should have at least melted from pavements by the morning...

Sweeping drizzle here. I've never wanted a band of rain(on way) so much to wash this away🤣

Hopefully we can eek a decent spell out of Feb.

Sure the signs are there but we get let down alot more often than not.

In early march , synoptics have to be nearly perfect to deliver.

Then I'm looking for warmth tbh.

Definitely for high ground - I'd think 250m to 300m plus (somewhere like Queensbury!). Temp over 1c now and drizzle.

A good day of snow here….maybe 5/6” with even more higher up. The drifting is decent  above 300m too. Maybe some more on it’s way!

Can our Sheffield contingent tell us if it's rain or snow the second band early on.

Reminents of snow on the grass and cars this morning. No doubt gone by lunchtime. Rather miserable with light drizzle
