@throwoff Yes - early-mid Feb looks of interest, the jet showing signs of diving South. This is still a  good time of year for cold. Models slowly edging closer to a colder solution.

Lets hope this time people don't mistake cold solutions for snowy solutions!! There is a big difference. A straight Northerly/North Westerly would be bad news for us in EA/SE.

Lots of coffee being smelt in the MOD thread this morning but there is still a lot of coffee to pass under the bridge before we get to Narnia which usually means sleet for London.

Ahhh Spring, my favourite part of winter 🤣

Not sure we are there yet, but wish it would hurry up and arrive as i am fed up with winter now.

To be honest i was fed up with winter once i ventured into the model threads and saw the sine wave pattern of :-

'coldest winter for years'

'snow for everyone'

'oh no, its not going to be cold now the models have had their say'

'but you said last week that this week will be better' etc. etc. posts.

killed winter for me.

@Freeze done some basic gardening today, basically pulled a few weeds while the weather is warm and soil is damp win win in my book.

Blimey the MOD thread is dead. Only 10 post all morning 😔

Maybe they are all looking for the quote button... still it makes reading the thread a lot easier where there is not a page of model pics all set vertically instead of mosaic. and then repeated where someone has just hit 'quote' 😄

Foggy up here this morning - irony is the moon was so bright in the early hours it lit up the garden. Possible rumours of a pattern change beginning 2nd week of Feb but I wouldn't put money on it just yet... Still thinking it will be a late spring this year

but it was damp fog so probably low cloud.

Isn't all fog damp? Lol. It was foggy here last night but must've cleared during the early hours as the breeze picked up.

I’ve been out of the SE for 18 months now, but always keep up on the thread…. Saw this cloud formation on the way home tonight in Al Ain, UAE…. First thought it was a contrail mixing with the cloud, but actually doesn’t look like it is.. 🧐 you might need to zoom in a little

@John StevensIt could be the shadow of a contrail -- unless it's a chemtrail. 🤔

@Methuselah shouldn’t be a chemtrail as the pic is looking straight out into the desert, and where we are there’s no industry to emit. I suspect it was contrails passing through a cloud layer…but there’s nothing under the cloud layer which is what piqued my interest

@John Stevens My apologies, John, my mention of 'chemtrails' was a pathetic joke, as they don't exist. . .😁

@Methuselah 🤣🤣 by chemtrails I thought you meant emissions from power stations or, more likely here, oil refineries/ desalination plants…

Those emissions here are very “snaky”…so perhaps “chemtrails” is a good description

@Methuselah haarp in full effect instead 😄

Not really liking this new quote thing 🤔 but will give it time as it's new. Interesting to see how it does when mad thread gets super busy however

You can still quote, but you chose what you want to quote rather than the whole thing. 🙂
