Small cell developing just south of Avranches, France. Heading North.
-
The only thing you'll be capturing is the chavs roaming the streets of Stevenage...i can say that, ive lived there! lol
You're not wrong there! haha
-
Cable release and tripod at the ready, some distant lightning would be a nice reward for finishing my A levels
-
Half glad I was inside at work today because that squall line came tantalizingly close and I don't think I would have coped.
-
just saw a few flashes to my north west
-
Storms both to the south west of Luton and over Milton Keynes at the moment, lovely.
-
Been inside at work all day, just had a look at the radar and a nice cell passed just north of me mid afternoon which would have been nice to see, even if it wasn't directly over head. Not a bad day overall for some in the midlands and south east.

I've been looking forward to this thread coming back for a while now. Looking forward to the weekends prospects, and into next week. I have tomorrow off due to work being slow but looks like Sunday would have been a better day for my location!
Good luck everyone, and here's to a summer of sunshine, warmth and thunderstorms
-
Doesn't surprise me some of you are seeing flashes from such long distances. Earlier on in the year I could see lightning at least 75 miles away to my east towards the essex coast, gradually getting brighter until over me.
Looking forward to see how wednesday pans out, have the day off work and also looks like saturday night might be good if something can bust the cap!

Some nice CC bolts and thunder but then the storm split in two right over stevenage so now just light rain. Storm shield working quite well!
-
3 CC flashes to my west not long ago, distant thunder.
-
Some good looking towers to my north, shame everything today is just missing me
-
Didn't really sound like HAARP to me, that seems like more of a constant noise whereas this was just rumbling at regular intervals. I don't really understand HAARP to well though so what do I know! aha.
Whatever it was it certainly sounded like thunder and was coming from the west.
-
huge long constant rumbles of thunder but no lighting to the west of me out think towards hitchin letch maybe can anyone establish spooky
I thought I heard this too but there's nothing showing on radar?

Hi everyone, don't really know where to post this but seeing as I live in the SE I'll post it here.
I'm going down to Dorset for a week this Saturday and was wondering what temperatures are likely on the coast with this warmer set up that's looking likely. I understand inland the temperatures are like to be mid to high 20's, but what would they be along the south coast? Low 20's?
Would anyone care to enlighten me?
Cheers, Liam

Nice rumble of thunder here
-
Heard a rumble here about 10 minutes ago
-
Very heavy rain just now, roads were like rivers! Albeit no T&L
-
Thunder heard to the east of Stevenage!
Missed that myself, but a nice rainbow on show now. Saying that, I've probably seen more rainbows and double rainbows that thunderstorms this year!

It is not hard to see why Tornadoes have been reported with these Supercells, when you have favourable conditions and Temp / Dewp spreads of 68/64 in Nottingham and 68/66 in Leicester you can see why. These storms must be almost dragging the ground.
Furhter south a Stout Cap with Explosive conditions if the Cap Breaks also noted with 77/68 at Stanstead, 79/66 at Southend on Sea and numerous other stations reporting very explosive conditions.
Will it be broken ? Probably not
Will the Cold Front fire later...............God knows!
I hope so! It feels like it should even if it doesn't, feeling scorchio!

don't know if the link will work but here's someones video of the Hinckley hail
-
Pretty sure I can see the anvil from my location to my north west
-
Looks awesome on radar and on the brum cam. You guys better be getting some footage of this beast
Hopefully will get up to about 27 degrees here today, will make up for no storms. Although the bbc graphics for my area show intense cells on their website

If only I could drive and chase tomorrow, it'd be so easy to get on the A1 and drive north towards Lincolnshire or even towards Cambridge.

Small cells popping up in Northern France in the last 15 minutes or so, heading in a Northerly direction so could develop and reach the South Coast. Although everything bar the system heading for Devon has diminished once over sea.
