Don't count on that though! Its all still quite up in the air.
I know, i know but since i started to follow to be interested in this early last year, i haven't had a decent storm. At it seems that they don't happen anymore, i remember when i was younger i would wake up to loud thunder and frequent lightening during the night. That wasn't long ago as i'm 16 but storm potential has seemed to have gotten worse since then

The usual suspects Kent, East Sussex, Surrey, Greater London, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk are most at risk from imports by the looks of things, I'm afraid Stevenage might find things brushing to its East.
Okay thanks mate

Me too mate!

Bit overwhelmed with the amount of discussion in this thread!
So, can anyone give me a simple-ish explanation on what's going to be occurring over the weekend storm wise? Noticed MCS's have been mention, where about' so far are these forecast to pop up?
Sorry if this is an annoying post, i'm knew to this having become interested in storms properly last year and find it difficult to read the data etc. Learning a lot from you guys just by reading the thread, although most of it goes over my head
Cheers.

Looking at the GFS its showing a risk of thunderstorms tomorrow, but confining it to a very small area
Will much come from this or will it be another hot, sunny, clear day for the south?
-
I cant connect at all been "loading" for 15 minutes now! ahh well
-
Not much showing on the radar for my area atm. could be my lot for the day

Had about 4 or 5 showers pass through today with all of them dropping hail. Most of it very small insignificant hail. The last shower to pass about 2 minutes ago, although only the edge dropped the biggest hail which was about 2mm or 3mm in size, not big i know, but makes a lovely sound on the conservatory
Edit: seems the heftier showers slightly to the west of here passing through northampton etc.

All rather uneventful
Remember this imported MCS in May 08 - was a cracker! More of the same this year would be awesome
Two different viewpoints of the same MCS!
Wow, thats got the mouth watering! Constant rumbles of thunder Do you know what areas of england this storm hit, i would be interested to know.
EDIT: Sorry, hadn't watched the second video, kent.

Right, i know its only january and we should all be trying to enjoy the cold weather, but i am really looking forward to seeing a few storms. I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread on what people would like to see in 2010 storm wise.
The one thing i would love to witness this year is a storm during the night. Don't recall a storm in the night for a few years unless i have slept through it
Okay guys, what are yours?
cheers Liam

Very hazy today, but i can just see a small tower to my east, dont think it will grow into a full blown storm though

I might be going to switzerland for a few days in october and was wondering if they ever have thunderstorms at that time of year.
cheers.

Very potent little storm passing over here, heavy rain and near constant rumbling of thunder from IC lightning.
Im gutted, passed south of here and looks good, thought i could hear thunder too
-
The showers heading for me seem to be breaking up on the latest radar runs
-
blimey its been very very heavy rain here since 5pm and just got torential again !
tell me about it, did you hear the rumbles of thunder when the rain started like you said at about 5 ish?
-
The thunder was quiet even when the rain was at its worst so im think its quite high based.
-
The worst hs past but it is still raining heavy.
-
Few rumbles of thunder heard now, along with very heavy rain, just got soaked trying to get my guinea pigs in from their run.
-
