  1. I dont think its that bad at all, plus, most Julys in the past have had at least a couple of days of 15c or less. Take 2000 for example, there were 19 days were 17c or below was recorded at Humberside (my nearest weather station). There have been none so far this month. So this current spell is nothing out of the ordinary.
  2. Cloudy with a few spots of rain falling, 15c. Cant complain really as we've topped 21c every day so far this month.
  3. Sunshine and showers here too. The temperature rose up to 21c at 12.35 after what was a dry and sunny morning but a rash of showers followed but it has since dried up. I had a bike ride to the banks of the humber and saw some particularly heavy showers and lightning to the west over Hull. Was great to view from a distance... until i had to seek refuge in a nearby phone box as i didnt really set out prepared for rain
  4. The maximum over here in Keyingham was 24.1c which makes sense as Humberside was recording the highest in the country at 16:00 of 25C
  5. The earlier cloud has cleared to give some good sunny spells and a temperature of 20.6C. Looks like another warm day, but not quite as warm as yesterday though.
  6. Same here. Give me a winter like 03/04 that was on the whole a mild one but when it was cold it was usually accompanied by snow. I just despise cold anticyclonic gloom that plagued last winter.
  7. Well only for 2/7 days of the week and even at weekends its dark before teatime so theres a very small window of daylight when you can actually go outside. Thats why i find winters so grim and depressing. In the summer if you do hate the heat just wait till the evening for a good 4 hours of more pleasant weather.
  8. Its actually been very nice here over the past 2 weeks and i only live 10 miles from the east coast. There have been some cool cloudy days mixed in with warmer sunnier ones but the emphasis has been on a lot of dry 'useable' weather as apposed to the frequent showers that have characterised the last 2 summers. We didnt get the heat that other parts have experienced though, until today when it reached 24.1c.
  9. I agree with you there Bottesford. I'd much rather be oustide enjoying the weather than be stuck inside cucooned against it. In winter i can go weeks on end where i dont set foot outside in the garden due to the combination of it being freezing cold, muddy and the garden lacking any interest. Whereas in summer, even if it may be too hot to do strenuous excercise or play sports outside, the weather still entices you outside to enjoy all the colour and scents on offer. Similiarily in our city centres i love seeing everyone sitting outside eating and socialising as it brings such a feel good factor to the place as opposed to winter where everyones sole purpose seems to be just to do the necessary shopping and go home. I always find our city centres look far less attractive in the winter with everything being wet, the low sunshine making everwhere look dark and everyone looking glum and depressed. Having said that, given i play a lot of sport i'm not a huge fan of the heat but it would still rank above winter cold for the sole reason that you can do very little outside in winter without freezing to death like waiting for a bus or cycling. Enjoying the outdoors in winter is pretty limited anyway. The normal working week means that you dont see the daylight except at weekends due to the short days and when you do venture out on a walk in the countryside you are forever dodging the puddles or coming back caked in mud, which i doubt anyone would find very pleasant.
  10. Hi new member here. I've been reading for several months so though it was about time i joined. Here its been the warmest day of the year so far at 24.1c. Very humid too which unfortunately brings out all the tiny flies.
