  1. Lovely and warm but the sunshine has turned a little hazy in the past couple of hours, 19.2c
  2. Yes, i would be happy with something like July 1977 and would have taken it instead of last July for the fact that it was a very dry month, even though it was 0.6c below the 71-00 average. It was still the warmest month of the summer, so overall summer 1977 must have been very poor, especially so considering what happened the year before. I believe we are long overdue a sumer month with a significantly above average CET. The past 3 summers have had their moments but any proper hot weather has been brief and has only occurred once during the entire 3 months. We could get more frequent hot weather from a similar CET to last summer, but it would mean more notable cooler interludes inbetween. Well we can only hope that we get a repeat of 1959. That spring as a whole was not especially dry, but it was warm and that year saw a wonderful Summer.
  3. A very nice day here. The day started a bit damp after some overnight showers but its quickly dried up in the warm sunshine. Current temp 17.8c
  4. Some quite mild nights coming up this week which should mean the daytime warmth hangs on longer into the evening. Mins in double figures for most on Wednesday night. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn8417.png
  5. The garden has had a decent water today from some hefty showers. Still managed to get an uninterupted cricket match though. Now back to the warmth and sunshine tomorrow.
  6. Still fairly strong agreement for things to settle down once again at 216h following a brief cooler, more unsettled spell over the weekend. Well i suppose we have been very lucky with having nice weekends recently. In the shorter term Wednesday looks the warmest day next week with 22c possible.
  7. It now looks like being a well above average month and its come at just the right time to end what has been a relatively long run of below average months. And long may it continue up until September.
  8. We are set to see highs of at least 20c on 5 days right through to Wednesday, possibly Thursday. I think thats pretty good for this time of year and about 6/7c up on what we are getting at the moment. Last year it took until 28th May to achieve 20c here.
  9. On the flip side you could say that this summer could break the trend of dry spring = wet summer just because its got to end sometime due to the law of averages. If May turns out to have above average rainfall will everybody then be expecting a good summer. The fact is we just cant tell, as the Met office debacle demonstrated last year.
  10. Today so far has been mostly sunny with only patchy cloud. After a very cold night for the time of year (min -0.9c) it warmed up quickly to a max of 14.8c but still feeling slightly chilly in the breeze when the sun went in. Now fallen to 12.6c.
  11. Now that would be an awful summer, not to exceed 21c at all. Almost impossible really for central areas of England. Birmingham recorded 42 days of 21c or more last summer and we regarded that as average/poor. (edit: you must mean the year so far)
  12. Not sure i agree with you. Towards the middle of the day it has warmed up significantly and has felt fairly pleasant. Either side of that however it has felt very cool indeed, and almost chilly in the morning in the breeze and out of the sun. We got down to -0.9 last night and with a max of just 12c forecast today its going to take a while to warm up to something approaching a respectable level. Mins of 7-9, maxes of 19-21c look quite likely early next week and in the sun that will feel lovely, and not too hot if you dont like the heat.
  13. Going by the ecm which does become rather disappointing later on we would still get 5 dry and warm days which is certainly not to be sniffed at. Any breakdown cant be taken seriously at this point.
  14. theres certainly nothing tedious looking or boring from my perspective. At least we are soon to see the back of the cold evenings where the temperature drops well into single figures making it very hard to enjoy being outside much past 5pm. It may feel pleasant in the sunshine this morning but its only 7c and i'm getting a little fed up of it taking until early afternoon for it to warm up properly. Perfect weather for outdoor hobbies Eugene.
  15. Looking more and more like a prolonged settled and warm spell is on the cards from Saturday onwards. The ECM just shows high pressure dominating throughout. I havent seen things looking this good for a long time.
  16. Looks like a lovely week next week for most parts. The first significant dry and warm spell always feels great following the endless cold of Winter.
  17. An awful day, made even worse thinking that just 2 days ago it was absolutely gorgeous. Light/moderate rain for much of the day and a max of just 7.8c. Now 6.2c with the sky gradually clearing.
  18. And my week off work which i was innitially having doubts about looks like it couldnt be any better. There will innevitably be a downgrade in upcoming runs but TBH i will be satisfied with a dry week with pleasantly warm temperatures (17-20c) which is still very good for this time of year. Any extra heat will be a bonus.
  19. Expect a rise from the weekend onwards, possibly a significant one if the ecm is to be believed.
  20. ECM is an absolute stunner. Looking warm from the weekend onwards, possibly very warm.
  21. I will believe it will remain cool for the forseeable future when i see it across all of the models. At The moment all the main models are going for a warm up at the weekend and various long range forecaste have picked up on it. I think thats enough to warrant me getting my hopes up. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rukm1441.gif http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm1681.gif http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1501.png
  22. The ground is exceptionally dry for this time of year. Its far from causing any problems though so long may the current dry spell continue.
  23. A lovely day here with bucket loads of sunshine. Still warm too at 13.9c and a max of 16.6c. More of this please.
  24. A glorious moring here with clear blue skies. Temperature already up to 13c.
