  1. Another very warm day continuing the great summer here. A max so far of 25.3c before cloud amounts increased. We seem to have reached 25c on so many occasions here which is quite remarkable for how close we are to the North sea.
  2. Quite a lot of cloud but some good sunny spells at times. Feeling warm again, 21.6c
  3. I hate the dark mornings when i have to get up early. Waking up at 6am and it being light makes it much easier to get up and out of bed. When its still dark it makes you feel like you should still be asleep. On drab, dull winter days i also like the fact that the sun sets so early as it puts me out of my misery of having to look outside at it.
  4. For me June would be 9/10 and July so far would be 7/10 so the summer so far here is a very respectable 8/10. 2009 was a rather good 7/10, 2008 was 5/10 and 2007 an incredibly poor 2/10. As i dont look for thunderstorms as much as some its not the lack of storms thats brought my rating down. Its the more unsettled weather we've had of late. But on the whole its been a very good summer so far with an abundance of sunny and warm days, although July so far has tended to be more cloudy than June.
  5. Certainly a different feel to things today with quite a cool breeze making it feel very unsummery. The sun has been out for much of the day so i dont know why i'm moaning. Probably because we've been spoilt with warmth so far this summer.
  6. I see uncomfortable nights as the drawback for the gloriously warm evenings we've had recently but its a price i'm willing to pay. I'd much rather have that than have to put on an extra layer when going outside in the evening. Being able to wear shorts and t-shirt at 9pm is what summers all about IMO.
  7. What has set this summer apart from the previous 3 is the seperate instances of dry, warm weather and theres potentially a lot more to come. Late May saw a gradual build up to a couple of very warm/hot days on the 23rd/24th. The beginning of June saw another warm spell. Then came the more prolonged one in late June, early July. And finally the one were just coming out of at the moment with 29c being achieved on Monday and Tuesday. Compare that up to the same point in the last 3 summers. In 2008 especially we would be yet to experience any decent settled weather.
  8. We certainly arent doing badly considering we are supposed to be right in the middle of the much talked about unsettled spell this week. Its been sunny and warm for much of the day so far. A very warm day Monday followed by a cloudy but dry day yesterday and now this. Not a bad week up to now.
  9. And still dry here but with a few occasional spots of rain. The warmth is still with us though. Up to 22.3c
  10. It depends on the degree of warmth. There sure is a point when it gets too hot, even in this country but so far this summer there have been plenty of days where its been very pleasant without a nagging chilly breeze but cool enough for it to be comfortable. Perfect for someone like me who loves the outdoors in summer.
  11. If the GFS is anything to go by this week shouldnt be too bad temperature wise. Easily into the low 20s quite widely but if we do develop a northerly towards the weekend temperatures may drop back a little into the high teens.
  12. Great to see the warmth back, even though its just brief. We reached 26.2c here and the 5th time this year we've surpassed last years maximum for the whole summer.
  13. A cloudy start but the sun has broken through in the last hour and its feeling very warm, 21.6c.
  14. Still a fair few ups and downs before the month is out i reckon. A slight rise Sunday to Tuesday followed by a fall again during next week should see us at about 17.2c going into the final week. Models are pointing at a warmer last week to the month so above 17c looks likely at this stage, which would be the warmest since September 2006.
  15. A short sharp Winter would be nice, not the long drawn out one like the last one was. Many places had to wait until the 2nd week of march to record over 10c. Yes it was notable but this year i am hoping for some mild atlantic weather inbetween the cold spells.
  16. Autumn is very much a season of two halves for me. September and the first half of October is when we can cling on to the last remaining warmth, and theres still a bit of light left in the evening to get outside. Late October and November is probably the worst time of the whole year for me. The trees are now bare, days are short and the dreaded talk of Christmas is in the air. The best i can hope for is a good storm to liven things up.
  17. Certainly warming up in the SE on Sunday/Monday and it will be most welcome. This week has been dreadful in comparison to June.
  18. Only 24.4c here at the moment. I thought it would have risen more given the head start we had earlier. However it looks like we will again surpass last years highest temp for the whole summer, which would be the 4th time this year that we have done so.
  19. Already 22c and feeling very warm. This time yesterday it was barely 19c and we finished up with 28.3c.
  20. A max of 28.3c here today, smashing last years high of 25.6c.
  21. Bridlington was 27.4c at 3pm according to weatheronline. If so its the warmest day there for 9 years. On 29th July 2001 it reached 28.3c.
  22. I see 25c being recorded in Exeter and 24c in Manchester so still very warm away from the SE.
  23. It was 25.8c in my back garden before i left to go out. I'd imagine it must be approaching 27c now so plenty of time for it to increase even higher if we havent had an increase in cloud.
  24. If you draw a line from the Severn Estuary to Scarborough, to the east of there is where i see temperatures of at least 25c over the next 2 days. So i'd say you'd be too far west to share in the really warm stuff. Still i'd expect it to reach 22-23c whare you are which certainly isnt cool.
  25. Early cloud had totally dispersed and its now almost clear blue skies. Already 19.1c and i expect it to increase quite rapidly over the coming hours.
