  1. thanks for the link. no worries,no offense was intended, jst venting.
  2. cyclonic ,have you got the snow on ground chart for the american continent at the moment, could you post it. man, people can be negative if they want ,they have a right to express how they feel,we shouldn't have to be positive pretentiously.no offense is meant by this post ,it just annoys me when people feel they should censor emotions.
  3. Could someone please explain to this ignoramus what a 'mountain torque ' event is.....tar very much.
  4. True what you say,I too live in manchester and there are huge differences in snowfall depending on how high an elevation you are,as I live quite low in salford this is frustrating, I long for the snowfall events that are commonplace on the snake pass and places such as that. In regard to winter I would love an epic ,cold ,snowy winter and my gut tells me a mild winter is unlikely but my brain says that I have no idea and listening ,isolating and giving voices to parts of the body that have no right weather predicting is an in precise art,[l.i.t.s.-,laugh inwardly then snigger].ok...im sorry about that
  5. cool avatar, princess monoke i believe....yeah,i thought that too about the snowline
  6. ,often have i experienced events such as you describe above and wondered about the mechanisms that enable them, thankyou for this information.
  7. blummin eck man...chill out,the guy has got a right to his irrational thinking
  8. here, here ,could not agree with you more.
  9. hello,i have read a few people mention dew point in relation top the chance of snow.I was just wondering if people would explain to me how the dew point affects the chance of snow and its general function in relation to snow.
  10. ideal winters day..... a foot of snow underfoot with a sub zero day following a double figure minus night. The trees would be highlighted in frost and as the short ,clear december day draws to a darker ,colder afternoon freezing mist would form over the deep snow fields. The sun would glint off everything in gold ,rich hues as night came...........then i'd wake up..
  11. winter would be cold, very cold,.Snow would be frequent, heavy and sustained. In between blizzards[and i mean proper, raging blizzards] calm, cold, clear freezing weather would persist until the next lot of snow. This weather would be from november to march.Unlikely,yes-possible ,yes. This is my winter hopecast
  12. absolutely ,I second what you are saying
  13. yeah, thats true we have the term average which is what the winter is most likely to be
  14. funny very true ,statistically ,it is unlikely to be colder than average, boo, hoo quite right too
  15. are you for real mate....i mean ,this would be fantastic but its pure fiction ,here is my speculative weather forcast,i now it is early but here goes im new to this but this is what i think will happen this winter, november will be a beary month early on bears will be apparent but with sunflowers and dandruff ending the month then as we move into december existence will cease to be,so very cold nothingness i suspect.January will comprise of lots of amatuer meteorologists moaning about lack of snow and febuary will herald the second coming ,Princess Diana dont get me wrong luke ,i mean no disrespect ,your forcast is no different than anyone elses it completely speculative,i sincerely hope your winter predictions come true
  16. whaley bridge ,is that near staley bridge,my faily come from there.mY GRANDAD SAID THE WINTERS UP THERE IN HIS DAY WERE TRULY HARSH,MOUNTAINS OF SNOW,TERRIBLE DRIFTING.aPPARENTLY WHEN MY UNCLE WAS BORN ,IT WAS IN THEIR HOUSE because THEY WERE TRAPPED BECAUSE OF A BLIZZARD.AFTERWARDS THEY HAD TO GET OUT USING THE BEDROOM WINDOW BECAUSE OF SNOW DRIFTS BLOCKING THE DOWNSTAIRS.sorry about the caps ,i have just looked up and realised
  17. the snake pass is invariably in passable in winter time,
  18. who knows man,i hope so......but long range forcasting is flawed,so any forcasts for the coming months i would take with a pinch of salt
  19. why will it be coming off the continent, what, weak gulf stream, why
