  1. Oh wow didn't realise it was like that! If its going to be cold and snow, we'll have a repeat of that then please
  2. Did that snow go all the way down to the coast or was it more inland? I've heard of great snows back then but that was 12 years before my time lol
  3. I think if anything does fall during the day on lower ground and around the coast, it will likely be rain for this week/weekend as daytime highs of 3-5c, however could obviously turn to snow with evaporative cooling etc. I am liking the perspect of the battleground snow from potential sliders next week, which could give us a lot of snow (way to far out i know but just for fun). I think even low ground and the coast would get some good snow from that too. Just got to hope it doesn't go too far north, in order to keep it an all snow event and keep us in the cold air after. Very exciting and hopefully most of us will see something over the next week or so!
  4. It amazes me that even with good cold uppers the charts still don't want to give us snow on the South coast but im sure it will be different come the time! Would love a 2018 redo with 2ft of snow down to the coast
  5. Loving that chart, it shows sleet here on the coast but it's too far out as you say so hypothetical for now, I'm sure if we get a small correction South and keep a bit of colder air in the mix it could be all snow here for us too! Exciting possibilities.
  6. Whats the likely hood of those below 100m? Would we be looking more likely cold rain from this front? Im in a small dip but the top of my street either side is 60-80m asl. I think I need to move on top of a hill lol
  7. Yep it was just a wobble as we get every cold spell predicted lol. BBC weather seemed good saying a cold northerly as next week goes on with snow possible just about anywhere! I would love to see a nice front come up from the south at somepoint, stalling over us to keep the cold air in and dump a load of snow, is that asking too much though?
  8. Thats good to see (tho with a pinch of salt ) after the goings on in the mad thread with things being further north and the south missing out, its nice to see some potential snow for us southerners! Hopefully it will bring a bit more snow to us on the coast than 1cm if im being picky, maybe 1inch instead would be nice lol
  9. All looking good in the Mod thread, its nice to finally see an increasing possibility of some proper winter weather and hopefully prolonged cold! Whilst easterlies/North Easterlies are generally not the best for precip/snow for us hopefully some disturbance will crop up to give us some good snow like they have in the past! Exciting times ahead I think
  10. Doesn't look cold enough for costal snow yet but going a couple miles inland could make the difference for some snow, fingers crossed! I'll be in work away from the coast Monday so hopefully see some if it continues to show
  11. I do hope we get some good snowfal this winter, for us on the coast too not just higher up. Chilly day in the fog, only 4c on the car temp!
  12. Not long had some more torrential hail and thunder and lightning overhead, some very big booms, loved it! Snapchat-397314295.mp4 20221123_212211.mp4
  13. Just seen some lightning and distant thunder about 10-15miles to my north going past, some more heavy showers moving into South Wales.
  14. Just had one of the heaviest hail showers ive ever seen, few flashes of lightning too in Barry, was just driving home from Newport where there was some thunder and lightning and hail also. Once I got to Barry though the hail was around pea size but sounded like it was going to break the windscreen . Was very good to see!
  15. I do, have 3 and they are my children. She has an injection every month and she's like a kitten again but of I let the house get to cold I think she feels it in her legs as you can see the change in her and she doesn't seem happy then. 20c seems to be a good temp to keep the house at and she's happy then lol.
  16. I keep the house between 19-21C generally, I don't like it going to cool, i notice if it goes below 17C for to long i feel the cold and my cat with arthritis becomes much less active and sleeps a lot more, so i fear it may start to affect her arthritis and she ends up in discomfort.
  17. Dry and cold here with our first frost of the season. I would enjoy it more if my boiler was working, currently no heating/hot water and a cold house . Temp 4.2c Overnight low 2.5c Wind 0.7mph
  18. Its been a wet morning with plenty of heavy showers but some brighter spells now. Temp 13.2c DP 10.2C Rain total today: 10.69mm Wind 2-7mph gusting 15mph
  19. Well, if you do settle on a place for it then I'd say it should definitely go on your Christmas last lol. Yes it will be interesting, im certainly enjoying it already and being able to view it from work, im looking forward to a good storm! Im in a bit of a dip with the houses around me higher up, so quite sheltered but there are 2 stations on Wunderground within a mile of mine, so i will be curious to see their results compared to mine aswell!
  20. Thanks! This was my thinking with them suppose to be seperate, compared to all being in one. Suppose its done for convince for home weather stations as apposed to professional ones though? Surprisingly it is only between 0.5C-1C warmer than my old one in the shade and 2 other stations near by me on Wunderground, so im pretty pleased so far, plus my garden can be a bit of more of a heat trap so its possibly fairly close to the actual. I think in terms of money, for £184 down from £259 it is definately one of the best in the price range. Just need a good wind storm to test it out now lol. I have set it up on Wunderground Personal Weather Station Dashboard | Weather Underground WWW.WUNDERGROUND.COM Weather Underground provides local & long-range weather forecasts, weather reports, maps & tropical weather conditions for locations worldwide. /Assets/Images/logo-global.png Met Office WOW - WOW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK The UK Met Office Weather Observation Website (WOW). WOW allows anyone to submit their own weather data, anywhere in the world. I've connected it to those two
  21. So i got my new Ecowitt HP2551 station but unlike my previous ones, this is a 7 in 1 sensor array thats on top of a pole attached to the fence. The thermometer, which is attached to the main arm on top is suppose to be in full sunlight, unlike previous ones I've had that are suppose to be shaded. Just wondering if anyone else has had one like it where the thermometer is suppose to be in the sun and if it alters the reading too much? Mine currently says 12.3C whereas my old on in the shade says 11.4C, so not sure if being in the sun will affect its accuracy much? It had really good reviews so happy overall with it, just curious about the temp.
  22. Just ordered my new Ecowitt HP2551 station on Amazon, be good to finally have a functional station again to get readings from and report with! Been a windy few days and some very heavy rain, cool too. Im not going to complain that its not cold yet or anytime soon as rather use the heating as little as possible for now lol.
  23. I've seen one or two reports of a tornado in London? Anyone comfirm this? Enjoy the storms, not jealous at all! Lol
  24. We put our heating on on Wednesday for a short time as we had been on holiday. We are on a prepayment meter, which is a pain going to the shop to keep topping it up. We are deciding on whather to get a standard gas meter put in and go on direct debit but just don't know what to do with the prices.
  25. Whilst I have no clue on what this winter may bring, I do hope for one decent snowfall. I've not had more than an inch on snow since 2018. Last 2 winters I've not even had an inch of snow, they have been snowless down here by the coast bar the odd flurry. I will take a mild winter to please most with energy bills, but would like just one week long cold snap with lots of snow!
