    Going by the Mad thread, the cold has all but completely dissappeared thismorning. Was this another phantom cold spell? Hopefully a miracle will happen later and the cold will ne shown again, but not looking very good now. Im finding it so difficult to understand whats going on in there, will it, won't it I think I need to start blocking some of the one liner posters in there lol. Do we know if the SSW for January is likely to happen?

    I'd think its probably looking ok for the Valleys/higher ground in the south Northwards. I do think its very knife edge for any low ground in the south, but that's usually the case. I'm off boxing day though so with a bit of luck it all falls right and I can get snowed in so I don't have to work on 27th

    Looking a bit more positive today then as the roller coaster continues. I need to tame my expectations though as a small part of me is getting excited for the prospect of snow even here on the coast. If the models continues how it is, I would have though most that are 1-2 miles inland away from immediate coast lines will see some snow sometime over the Christmas period.

    I still hold out some hope lol Its been a chilly few days anyway which has been nice and seasonal, even on the coast. Yesterday it stayed at 4.4C all day thanks to the fog and today its 5.8C

    Well today has removed any real snow and wintery prospects from Wales for now, fingers crossed the models flip back later lol. I do think I need a break from the mad threat, its a bit too much sometimes. If we do miss this bite at the cherry, hopefully the 3rd bite, whenever that will be in or around the new year I'd suspect, will give us all some real snow, prolonged cold and wintery weather. Especially if talk of the SSW possibility comes true! One can dream

    Gunna be a tense few days ahead as things keep getting shifted North and South as they sort out the low pressure and where the warmer/colder air goes. Hopefully for us this will move south as we tick down towards xmas so all in Wales can get some snow and not a split with the North getting snow and the South Cold rain. Definately most exciting run up to Christmas I can remember since 2010!

    Why do they always hate us costal areas things are looking a bit more promising with England getting an Alert for cold weather in the week, hopefully we will all join in on it here in Wales too!

    My poor Lavender plant blew over last night. We had some very heavy hail showers last night and some overhead thunder and lightning which I wasn't expecting but nice to see! Just need some dryer and colder weather now to cool everything down ready for any snowfall I remain hopeful we will get sometime this winter lol

    We have just had some thunder and lightning here in Barry across the Channel from you, only a few strikes overhead then it just stopped

    Northerlies generally aren't got for us in SE Wales nor are Easterlies as we know. Im hoping that if we do get an Easterlie in the next few weeks if any of those charts varify we can get a battleground snow event to see some here. Is it really much to ask for?

    Some pretty strong gusts thismorning out there. I live in a bit of a sheltered being at the bottom of a small hill my street is on but the wind still sounded like it was trying to come through the bedroom window! Looking further ahead, we will warm up for a short while before maybe another cold spell? Fingers crossed!

    Im off to Bute Park christmas lights soon, hopefully the worst of any weather can wait till I get home! Wouldn't mind a snow shower to make it festive though! Looking in the other threads, its looking quite scary in NW England/Scotland. I love a storm but would not want to be up there with those 90-100mph wind gust predictions. Hope they all stay safe.

    Very gusty and windy in general here in Barry with some heavy showers on and off. Not expecting anything wintery down herr but who knows!

    All looks rather good in the mad thread atm, any thoughts for us here in Wales? Im not expecting anything here in costal Barry, but a few miles inland if it does come off, could get some interest?

    Got a few distant rumbles in Cowbridge where I am for work. Looked at the radar and theres nothing near here, the storms way out in the channel. Not sure if its from that or something else developing!

    Im not holding out much hope here but do have my fingers crossed that we will get something here on Barry on the South Wales coast, been years since I've had an overhead storm!

    Its 8pm and still 28.1C here in Barrybados! I'd wouldn't be surprised if the temperature doesn't go below 20C tonight really around here and other parts of S.Wales. The house is just uncomfortably hot and humid. As you may be able to tell, unless im on holiday, im not a lover of this heat

    This 30c today in work has been a killer, also suppose to be 30c or close to it until the end of the week with high night time temperatures. Seen Meto have issued an Amber warning for Extreme Heat for most of Wales!

    Its too hot for me already, 27.8C is Barry, i need one of those walk in freezers attached to the back of my house!

    Hot here already (for me) 27.8c before midday and not a cloud in site and no real breeze. I expect to surpass 30c here today!

    It has been a very nice day, got to 25c here today which has been lovely but a bit on the warm side for my liking, don't do well in the heat. I think 20c is my perfect summer temperature lol

    Trying to do some gardening and despite being 7.6c we keep getting sleet/snow/hail showers here on and off! Been a very long time since ive seen snow showers at 7c!
