  1. Its 29.5C and too hot. The only saving grace is its a dry heat and not all humid and sticky. Finally finished work after a 30hr shift so sat at home with the fans on trying to keep cool. Im not enjoying the prospect of the next 4 days being 32-34C here. Im off to Grand Canary in just under 5 weeks to have a cool down . I look forward to the first low pressure with some more autumnal wind and rain lol.
  2. Mostly clear day with the odd bit of hight cloud arround. Current temp 29.5°C and rising, humidity 30%.
  3. I must admit, can't say im looking forward to potentially 30C+ for 4 days in a row, in addition to yesterdays and todays 27-29C and along with it warm nights again.
  4. I think the best outcome would be a mild winter overall with 2 or 3 short sharp snowy periods of 2-4 days to satisfy us coldies - I'll just use blanets and my cats to keep me warm in those periods.
  5. Im so happy its cloudy, breezy and down to 20C, feels lovely and cool now
  6. I was hoping it was going to cool down after the cold front went through. It dropped to around 22C when it went over, back up to 29/30C now but really humid which feels worse than the dry heat we had yeaterday and thismorning
  7. Well the rain became electrified just as it went to the north of me about an hour ago, saw one strike a few miles away and 2 flashes, a few rumbles of thunder. Not much but better than nothing and the 2nd biggest storm I've seen in the last 3-4 years maybe longer
  8. Some light rain here, sky looks stormy and its very still and muggy but it just doesn't want to go bang unfortunately
  9. Not expecting any thunder from it now having see the radar but will be nice if it can keep some precip for here!
  10. Similar here, didn't go below 23C last night and 25.1C now, gunna be another hot day before this cold front (and hopefully thunderstorms) comes through
  11. We didn't go below 23C last night which might be a new night-time high here, 24.4c now, if it wasn't for the cold front coming through this afternoon the I think it would have made high 30s here today, probably record breaking however still expecting 30C before if goes through.
  12. I recorded a high of 32.6C today, only been here 2 years so can't testify to any local records but don't think it broke any here. Deapite windows and doors closed the temp inside the house is still rising, less than a degree difference between the temp inside (26.7in lounge, 27.1 in dining room/kitchen and hotter upstairs) yet temp has dropped to 27.1 outside now so will open the windows soon so the house can cool down as it does outside over night.
  13. Its 26.6C in the lounge and 27C in the dining/kitchen area although downstairs is open plan. Still 27.4C outside but I will likely open all the windows in half hour wheb going to bed as the temp outside will likely drop to or just below the indoor temps within the next hour or so.
  14. A lot of hight cloud about and mid level thicker cloud, some gone quite dark and looks like rain coming from it but evaporating before getting to the ground.
  15. Just poped home quickly while out and about in work to put some ice in the cats bowls - was 31C in the garden. However a lot of high cloud about now and some thicker, darker mid level cloud which does keep blocking out the sun every so often so I don't think I will see any more of a rise in temperature
  16. Its 26C with 60% humidity (with the a/c on) a bit humid because of the a/c/water vapor cooler but definately more comfy than the 29C outside
  17. Sunny and hot here in Barry, some bits of cloud around but 28C at present, still got another hour or so of heating to go. Sat inside with windows and curtains closed and fans on, makes a difference, its between 25-26C inside and that 2-3C difference can definately be felt when going inside from the garden.
  18. Anyone know why there is a 5C different between what the meto forcast for ehere I live (30c on Monday) to what the bbc say (35C) most the models ive seen have had 34-36c for my location Monday. I just hope if we do have to endure the heat we can get some good night-time storms to make it at least partially worth while. Not seen a good storm in many years now.
  19. Im dreading Monday, as a support worker I will be in work for 13hrs, then 12hrs on Tuesday and will have to go out in this heat at somepoint. This heat will not be good for us in health and social care and the service users in our care, a lot who are unable to regulate their body temperature properly and this kind of heat will likely bring on their seizures and exacerbate other health issues. Not looking forward to this at all.
  20. What would be preventing Southern Wales and the SW from having similar values and instead nothing when we are predicted to be in the low to mid 30s also?
  21. Despite the cloud and occasional hazy sun, it's 28.7C in the garden, it would be over 30c no doubt If the sun was out. Despite the cloud keeping temps back a bit, the house is still 26c and it feels a bit muggier today so not very comfortable. Roll on some rain and fresher air lol
  22. Can I change this? Im going to change completely for LHR 17th and 39.2°C
  23. 26.9C in the garden, house is very warm too. Just bought and put up a mirror vinal on the french doors to see if it helps resuce the heat in the house at all. Not looking forward to the next week or so, roll on it cooling down to the low 20s, thats perfect summer weather for me!
  24. I'm not a fan of heat when at home and having to work, holiday is always different as you get some relief whenever needed thanks to A/C and you're not having to work in it. As a support worker I do anything from 10-26hr shifts and it is getting a bit much now at just 25/26C, Thankfully South Wales isn't generally predicted to get the temps England are, but still some showing up to 29-32C which is to hot. I've had my curtains closed and cheap A/C unit and fans going through the day to keep the house cooler the last couple days with temps at 25C outside and that's made a big difference when I'm home. Fingers crossed the temperatures being shown get downgraded to our usual summer high temps of low 30s. Also home for a thundery breakdown lol
