  1. Going off the dewpoints on the NAE, we shouldn't see much of a thaw, if at all tomorrow. Then perhaps a slight thaw in the days after.
  2. Radar looks very good for Norfolk and N.Cambridgeshire IMO for the next few hours at the very least. Some heavier PPN heading this way again by the looks of it.
  3. Today has been great, about 8cm at least and more to come still by the looks of it! Nearly 11 hours of non-stop snowfall now!
  4. Not too sure but as you mentioned there does seem to heavier PPN moving west towards our area. The front is only moving north very slowly, so I expect to see a few more hours of snow, I think an end total of at least 10cm is possible for us.
  5. Afternoon all. Snow has really picked up in intensity over the past hour and a half. Haven't measured it yet, though 2 inches (5cm) perhaps outside with more to come!
  6. Thanks for sharing Steve! Looking good for the region, somewhere inland but not too far from the coast in Suffolk or Essex could be the 'sweet spot' today.
  7. Morning all, Today's snow beginning to show up on the radar, and has just reached Kent. This morning's NAE PPN accumilation for the region ranges from about 5-13mm. A snippet from the Met office forecast, for the east of England: Good luck to everyone today!
  8. A few more charts to throw into the mix for tomorrow. These are the ECM PPN charts for tomorrow ( I've put them in 6 hour intervals though they can be viewed in 3 hour intervals too): http://en.vedur.is/photos/atlant_evr_urkomuspa/130119_1200_24.png http://en.vedur.is/photos/atlant_evr_urkomuspa/130119_1200_30.png http://en.vedur.is/photos/atlant_evr_urkomuspa/130119_1200_36.png http://en.vedur.is/photos/atlant_evr_urkomuspa/130119_1200_42.png
  9. Evening all. Very little snow thawed today with the DP around and below -2C during the day. Hoping tomorrow delivers for here..
  10. Morning all, a bit more snow fell overnight, currently 0C, DP -1.9C. NAE for tomorrow: http://expert-images.weatheronline.co.uk/daten/proficharts/en/nae/2013/01/19/basis00/ukuk/prty/13012012_1900.gif http://expert-images.weatheronline.co.uk/daten/proficharts/en/nae/2013/01/19/basis00/ukuk/prty/13012018_1900.gif http://expert-images.weatheronline.co.uk/daten/proficharts/en/nae/2013/01/19/basis00/ukuk/prty/13012100_1900.gif Snow moving up from the south during the afternoon, no marginality involved. PPN accumilation ranging from about 5mm-14mm. GFS does move the snow up a bit earlier than NAE: http://91.121.16.5/modeles_gfs/runs/2013011900/33-574.GIF?19-0 http://91.121.16.5/modeles_gfs/runs/2013011900/36-574.GIF?19-0 http://91.121.16.5/modeles_gfs/runs/2013011900/39-574.GIF?19-0 http://91.121.16.5/modeles_gfs/runs/2013011900/42-574.GIF?19-0 http://91.121.16.5/modeles_gfs/runs/2013011900/45-574.GIF?19-0 Again, no marginality involved. PPN accumilation up to T+48: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rmgfs4814.gif Ranges from 6-11mm.
  11. Still snowing here and hopefully it will for a while yet, would be nice to wake up to more than what's on the ground now! See you in the morning.
  12. Yes the streamer is only a couple of miles to your north! Hopefully more PPN heads a little southwards for you!
  13. Hi and welcome to the forum! Please pop your location into your profile,by clicking on 'my profile' then 'my settings', where on the left it should say 'profile settings' then add your location in the profile information section.
  14. Just ran your location through the past 8 hours on the V4 5 minute radar. Was really suprised with the heavier precipitation only about 10 miles to your south this afternoon, your location remaining in the lighter precipitation virtually throughout. No idea why this is the case, hopefully better luck for you either tonight or on Sunday!
  15. Just ran the NW radar through an animation, could be good for a couple of hours of snow I reckon for parts of Cambs and Essex and perhaps Northants.
  16. Bit more snow in the past hour here too, think I should go and watch a lamp-post!
  17. Only about 1-1.5cm on the ground at the moment. Some light snow possible through tonight I would of thought but as for more significant snowfall, looking to Sunday now! How did you do?
  18. Yes I do reckon the Met office atm are being very conservative in regards to Sunday. If current output persists regarding Sunday in the morning, I'd expect warnings to expand across the entire region tomorrow.
