  1. LOL they're a bugger in the snow, no hail stones here must be quite scattered
  2. Is that anywhere near me........................*dashes off to find out*
  3. I was woken by the wind about an hour or so ago, it was mental, all kinds of things blowing down the road. It didn't appear to be raining that much. When I went to bed last night I had to open my window as it was too warm in the house, I suppose that will change when the cold arrives
  4. Chilly and fairly still here. Met office warning doesn't cover my area so I guess it'll be ok, not battened anything down
  5. Raining on and off here, a few heavier bursts, a bit windy but nothing to get excited about, I think it's cold but then I have no blood in me, I can feel cold in the summer
  6. Same here lashing it down, I am hanging on to see if it goes off a bit, I have all the wet weather clothes but my dog is long haired and it takes hours for her to dry out, not good when she has arthritis
  7. Congrats Moki! HAPPY NEW YEAR to all North Western Net Weatherers, and all the other rabble on this site, may 2015 bring blizzards, 7ft snow drifts, lots of ice days and a very hot summer with a couple of twisters thrown in well I can dream
  8. Just went for a walk in the snow, flakes are a lot smaller here now and it is quite wet, it is just about 1cm deep in the park, can't see us getting much more. Meg enjoyed it though, what's the dog equivalent to snow angels?..........she did lots of them
  9. I'm off out to give Meg an extra walk
  10. Closed........it's heavy but no snow drifts yet!
  11. Snow here, my garden is almost covered already, woohoo!
  12. It's parky out there............ nipped to my local corner shop for some nuts
  13. I have noticed the birds are really filling their boots from the bird stations, can't fill them fast enough!
  14. Dry and calm here this morning, doesn't appear to have rained over night. I can't believe it is the end of December and I am sat here with the patio doors wide open so Meg can come in and out, I have no heating on and it feels fine, not a bit chilly!
  15. It's one of those dull depressing gloomy days here, no rain as yet, bit of a wind blowing but nothing out of the ordinary, currently a balmy 12c.
  16. Had a hail shower about 2.30/3pm when I was walking Meg, it felt cold in the wind, didn't bother her though she's got a double fur coat!
  17. Short sharp Sleety rain here that turned to hail then stopped
  18. Just looked outside again to my NW lookin good for something more prolonged
  19. Had a really heavy hail shower about 10.15am in Maghull it lasted a good 15 minutes the ground was getting white then it turned to more of a rainy mix, temperature was 2c. Had the odd shower since but not as much hail or as heavy. Back home now in Aintree the sun is shining for now some huge dark clouds making their way towards me
  20. Not sure if I am imagining it but the wind/gusts seems stronger this morning than last night, it's making more of a noise, more rattles and bangs outside
  21. As I said I have seen the tide in at Southport once from the end of the pier, I could have paddled in it. Crosby is far better for big waves I usually go to the Coastguard end, have nearly been caught out a couple of times by the tide as it sneaks in behind you I do try to check before I go down there
  22. I have only ever seen the 'tide in' at Southport once. Would you say the Southport coast is more exposed to the Irish sea than say Crosby, though they do get big waves at Crosby.
  23. I wanted to go but I was in work.....................as per usual The tide doesn't come in at Southport haha
