    Party time

From the album: Southport flower show 2014

Bra top that was part of the 'Party Time' display that won a gold award, very intricate design
  2. Just had a very squally rain event here, absolutely battered down for 5/10 minutes.
  3. Saturday looks ok for the Shrewsbury show, fireworks in the rain wouldn't do. Hope the storm risk for Friday and Sunday comes off
  4. I was just driving home from work and saw some huge towers out towards Warrington/Chester way?
  5. Just arrived home from work, on my travels I spotted some pretty impressive towers look to be out Warrington/Chester way, one or two where perfect anvil shapes. Here it is sunny with normal scattered fluffy ones and quite warm in the sun, 22.3c atm, wind has dropped off this afternoon.......................now for tea
  6. It hammered down here for a short time at about 7pm, still warm and humid, 20.7c with 46% humidity, pressure 1016hpa
  7. My car was registering 32c this afternoon, far too hot to be working, weather station was showing 35c in my back garden at approx. 6pm but it is in full sun. A lovely breeze has been on the go this afternoon making it a bit more bearable. I love the heat but prefer to be sat by a pool or by the sea, quick dip, a lounger and a long cold drink, slip slap slop
  8. 18.4c here 77% humidity, and very still and cloudy, can hear people/neighbours sitting out chatting, me..... I gotta go bed....working early tomorrow
  9. Are we to expect anything else in the NW?
  10. The Beeb charts showed us getting it from 5am onwards. Can't believe I slept so deep. It has rained and the sky is just grey at the mo, 18.8c with 77% humidity
  11. Have I missed anything? Slept like a log
  12. A sticky 19.8c, humidity 69% here, very still, no wind whatsoever. The sky is cloudless apart from the odd fluffy bit floating around. Off to bed windows and blinds open, will get a few hours sleep just in case (I am trying not to get excited, glass half full type of person)
  13. Just got in from work, and trying to catch up. It looks as if the activity is moving NE, am I safe to go to bed, for now. Very sticky 20c here
  14. After heavy rain this morning about 6am and then a brief thunderstorm about 9.15am it has shaped up nicely here, sunny with the occasional hazy bits and 26/27.2c, humidity 40%. Been sky watching all morning, and living in hope for later
  15. I don't like heavy rain in summer either but if it is accompanied by thunder and lightening, great! makes it more interesting. All of NW members enjoy different aspects that's what makes the 'debates' interesting
  16. Seeing as I am not experiencing or expecting any thunderstorms at the moment I have time to reply.....................why are storms fascinating? well for me it's the pure joy of seeing nature at it's best, or worse according to each individual, the science and power of storms intrigue me, be them thunder storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, snow storms or just good old normal storms. You can't beat them, oh and I love heat waves too
  17. Hi Miamay, yes it's a gorrrjuss day here, my car and weather sensor showing 28/29c imby. Back from Shrewsbury at the mo, been down on the farm playing hay baling. I am hoping for thunderstorms I guess we'll have to wait and see. Ants have been very busy today, seen a lot of the flying ones but they where only crawling, maybe tomorrow they will swarm eeek!!
  18. The hotter the better for me too. I love sitting outside of an evening but invariably some sort of cardi or jumper is needed, I'm looking forward to the 'heatwave'
  19. Its deserted in here............is everyone on their holidays? I am looking forward to our storm potential for the next few days unfortunately I will be working and wont have access to Netweather to see if and where the storms are developing, but I will be out and about on the road so will have to rely on my finely honed senses to detect any impending storms. Current temp 15.2c , a beautiful morning, dry with hazy sunshine. Hot and humid forecast, just the right weather for the flying ants to take off .... must keep my windows closed
  20. Dull here and bits of drizzle now and again, temp says its 20c.... hmmm doesn't feel like it
  21. Scattered high cloud here but a beautiful sunny day, currently 23.4c, and a slight breeze, pressure 1031hpa and steady, gorrguss !
  22. Same here, but 20.8c. Looking at radar now there's rain coming in soon not sure if it's breaking up though over the Irish Sea
  23. Beautiful sunny summers day here, currently 21.5c a few scattered clouds and light winds, makes you feel good
  24. It was great wasn't it, it made up for the one I missed the other week on the Monday night
  25. Couldn't tell if there was hail the rain was that loud and heavy, you should live oop north
