  1. In Glasgow city centre today. Periodic showers passing through. Interested in the ‘June Monsoon’ concept in a recent netweather forecast. Is this a common weather term? I wasn’t aware weather patterns here could be identified so clearly.
  2. Shame to lose the nice weather for a while but it had to rain sometime and frontal rainfall is the prevailing weather type here so it’s asking about much to expect it to stay away for too long. After about 2 weeks of this I’ll no doubt be moaning again. Need to remember was it April that it belt like we’d barely seen the sun for weeks.
  3. Clouds building up over the Firth of Clyde here and getting thicker. Shame for the folk out at the beach earlier. Was very localised at first with sunshine still evident in Dunoon and Helensburgh, but only the latter now.
  4. It did feel like there was a notable lack of sunshine during spring. Usually that’s the time of year that the sun can be most relied upon here.
  5. Quite extensive cloud cover on the west coast too, although when I was out earlier there seemed to be sunshine over on Bute.
  6. Getting impatient here. Waiting waiting waiting for this warmer and brighter weather.
  7. Is this…. A forecast for fine weather I see before me?! A mediocre spring even by our standards up here, hopefully some respite coming soon…
  8. I’ve had a migraine today, only ever get them around once a year and they seem to be spring or summer when they happen. I wonder if there’s a link to atmospheric conditions that can cause it.
  9. Was about 17c on the coast. A haar decided to make a nuisance of itself up and down the Firth of Clyde and up Long Long at various points, mostly burned away in the afternoon but was back in the evening. Never really seen that in the west before.
  10. Sounds like you’re all having a west of Scotland spring. You’re all saying pretty much what I say to myself pretty much annually at this time of year, only to remember last year was much the same. Chin up, it does change eventually.
  11. Don’t know why I’m surprised every year when it gets to this stage and wonder where the hell actual nice, pleasant warmth might come from?! Every year I think is pretty much the same.
  12. We did have a decent weekend last week but this is just rank now. I’d even take this chill if it was accompanied by some sunshine. It’s just never ending grey.
  13. Agreed that yesterday afternoon was lovely, just what I’d been hoping for in the past few weeks. Was thinking we should have a name for the first day of the year in Scotland where you can feel the warmth of the sun on your skin.
  14. It would make such the difference if Scotland could have an earlier spring more often. I mean at least it’s dry but I was out for a run earlier and it was freezing in the wind. It starts to get tiresome at this time of year - please warmth where are you?!
  15. Was in NW England yesterday, lovely bright and Sunny if a bit chilly. Drove up the road, lovely bright sunshine until Abington where normal service of grey cold emptiness was resumed.
  16. I didn’t think March was especially wet, but then I’m from Glasgow. Every month is wet here.
  17. Absolutely ready for spring here. Hoping this cold spell is the dregs of winter and isn’t a sign of a persistently chilly spring.
  18. Tried taking a photo in Glasgow but too much light pollution. Are these visible to the naked eye?
