  1. <sigh> Winters suck nowadays. I hate myself for getting mildly excited seeing a "feels like" -4C in the charts 7 days away, knowing full well it won't come off. It's that bad I may even have to resort to reading the Daily Express and find out when the next SNOMAGEDDON is happening. FML
  2. TBF - the GFS had the "cold spell" pretty much spot on, and from way before...
  3. Few flakes in Stirling just now - blawin a hoolie and bitterly cold.
  4. Struggled back home to some decent snow in Stirling
  5. My current browser tabs: 1. talkhearts (ahem) 2. Traffic Scotland twitter 3. NW Radar (so I can cry at all the snow further north) 4. This page. 5. Calculating and Using Days Inventory Outstanding (so I can cry)
  6. Just started heavy again in Paisley...
  7. Oh Boy. It's Happening * http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/577648/UK-weather-gale-force-wind-snow-polar-airmass-100mph-thundersnow-Canada-Arctic * but probably not today.
  8. Quite a nice heavy shower at the back of 4 this morning - dumped about 1cm in Stirling - though disappeared just as quick with the temps being a little mild, not sure if a warm sector passed through right behind the snow showers. Ken't people up there saying heavy stuff still to come, but I'm not so sure.
  9. Just reading that the bridge was closed to high sided vehicles when the lorry blew over, and that a man has been charged. What an idiot - he's lucky there wasn't anything in the other lane when he blew over.
  10. See the gap between the carriageways ? That's straight down into the Forth. The truck driver has had a lucky escape - probably needing a new pair of pants I should imagine.
  11. I see the BBC weather pages are forecasting heavy snow through tonight and tomorrow - will be interesting to see how it pans out - Stirling needs a westerly to see decent snow, anything coming from a more northerly direction gets swallowed up by the hills.
  12. Drive from Stirling to Glasgow was a bit hairy - couple of times nearly got blown into a truck or the central reservation. That said however, I'm looking forward to seeing the "weather bomb", and also the "THUNDERSNOW" armageddon that's coming today and tomorrow. Flaming newspapers making this out to be a Day After Tomorrow storm.
  13. This is next Tues & Wed 00Z Something doesn't look right to me..?
  14. Sat into Sun looks like it could be particularly perishing. Not so much worried about the (non) snow event, but I really would like to see some crisp, frosty mornings again.
  15. Is it just me, or is the GFS just not buying into the snow "event" mid-late week ? Certainly a smattering in the north, but nothing really centrally southwards...
  16. ^ I think it's sticking to it's guns. Cold certainly, but not much in the way of the white stuff (IMBY possibly )
  17. Wednesday looking a little bit stormy.
  18. I've had to remove Reed Timmer from my Twitter followers, because if I saw him drive through one more major snowstorm, I was apt to jump in a plane, fly over, and let the air out all 15 of his tyres. Bah.
  19. Wait, what ? We've now resorted to price checking tins of soup in order to find some snow ? Really ? SOORP or what. (Soup Oot O Ra Pram)
  20. I was lying on Bondi Beach pretending not to be a lobster during that day. Pretty much the same temperatures then as we've got today....you know it's bad when the English workforce working in the local office are complaining about it being too hot outside.
  21. It's an absolute pea-souper now out here at Glasgow Airport...proper thick fog and still baltic.
  22. Bloody hell that's cold this morning - left Stirling after scraping the car, washers working fine, arrived at work in Ra Weej, and the skooshers were frozen solid. -4 at the moment. Looking at the ensembles for the coming couple of weeks, and there's not much cold on offer, but plenty of rain. Not so good.
