  1. Temp is picking up from where it was yesterday, I just can't see the cold holding on enough to produce snow later on. Having said that, one of the biggest snow events in Stirling that I can remember, came from a very similar set up to what we've currently got...maybe temps were a bit lower, but not that much. YerWindae for tonight I think.
  2. NW weather forecast for today, has another 6+ hour snow event for today?
  3. Just been outside - and we've got around 1 inch now and it's still snowing despite what the radar says.
  4. Fell asleep at 3pm, woke up just now to it chucking it down and about 2cm on the ground. Looking at radar, there doesn't seem to be much left for central and above.
  5. Not to put a dampener on this - but it looks very rainy out in Glasgow...
  6. It's trickling down just now...like God's trying to get every last grain of salt out of his shaker.
  7. Still some nice returns out in the Atlantic, heading towards the UK later on.. http://www.accuweather.com/en/gb/national/satellite
  8. Yep - just getting a little heavier now. edit - the band is weakening as it hits the snowshield. TOORP alert in Braehead has been issued.
  9. SW - are you in Stirling? Am down in Braehead and only a few tiny flakes... sky's dark though.
  10. The first main band is literally just outside Stirling and tracking towards us - so fingers crossed the hairdryers in the west have all been unplugged.
  11. There doesn't look to be much in the way of moisture in the front moving down (well across) the NW.
  12. Strange mismatch in forecasts for the coming weekend - BBC National (Thomas I think) saying clear and frosty all weekend (without going into too much detail on Sunday), whilst others saying snow Saturday and Sunday (In Scottish terms) Interesting to see what the models come up with today...
  13. In relation to the Traffic Scotland twitter account - maybe if "Bex" spent less time "emojifying" their tweets, she'd be able to get across more traffic news.
  14. Absolutely peeing down through the Central belt to Glasgow M80/73/74/8 - pretty much every matrix sign displaying "Snow Forecast" warnings though. Can't see it myself....
  15. After a day of blue skies in Stirling, it's now clouding over with some spots of rain and a baltic wind. Interesting to see yellow rain warnings for most of us through the early part of the week - but to be honest, after yesterday, it's a respite - I don't actually remember a time I've been as concerned about the weather as I was yesterday.
  16. I noticed there's a hefty band being forecast on the back edge of this storm as it finally passes through...it's going to be a horrible night tonight with a fair few people not sleeping very well. From BBC site.
  17. Went out to Sainsburys in Stirling, and the Forth has burst it's banks at Drip Road area...actually looks pretty bad. Absolutely horrific outside.
  18. Well, the flooring has warped a little bit - but thankfully I was up at 0500 and spotted it enough to clear it up and "sandbag" the door - looks like it came in from the bottom of it... Checked all the drains outside to make sure they weren't blocked, so hopefully, fingers crossed, we're okay... Not looking good weatherwise for the rest of today - thoughts with those in the Borders and Cumbria...
  19. Back garden flooded in Stirling - woke up to massive puddle in the kitchen... Cats got it tight until I realised it wasn't yellow, and didn't smell.
  20. Nobody mentioning the Amber alert for rain tomorrow and Sunday? Can't remember the last amber rain alert we had - genuinely a little bit worried...
  21. Aha - time to dust off my winter login and get back on the saddle. I'm like the Hairmeister, can't shake the feeling it's a case of the MetO over warning us of what's maybe coming. Better that than say nothing and watch the carnage after #bawbag2 rips though the country. I do think however, that Glasgow and the west are going to get rain like we've not seen in a while....
