Big slow moving shower heading towards Kent, expect 1-2cms possibly from this...
Anyway the 18z is a upgrade for northern parts of EA, a huge downgrade further south, though southern/eastern Kent and Sussex would still do fairly well from the fronts positioning...still I'm hoping the LP sets up just a little further t othe NW then the 18z progs.
Regardless most in this area still look likely to get 5-10cms of snow regardless of what the models suggest...and on top of that it will be bitterly cold!
Yippie! Bring it on. Norfolk is ready
-
Just started snowing heavily with huuuuge snow pellets
Thats good. Hope it gets down to Fakenham:good:
-
I suppose they are just covering their backs in case it is not as bad. Mind you according to that weather forecast it is going to snow in the East every day next week! I thought Dan Corbett was subdued though.
-
The Countryfile weather forecast could be a memorable one. Look forward to finding out.
-
I can beat that, i have Norfolk to Guildford on Tues night, then back again Thursday night
I do not envy you. You may have fun and games (if you could call it that ) Keep safe and drive steady.

It has been a long time since I have been so excited about a snow event that is on its way this week. Tempered slightly by the dangers that this weather can do though. I live in North Norfolk so are bracing ourselves here.
-
Just been updated for Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. Heavy snow Tues, Wed and Thursday then the winds will really pick up on a strong Easterly with drifting. Loads of snow on the way for this week.:yahoo:
-
Thats some weather forcast! I live in North Norfolk so bring it on!:lol:
-
Just heard on Norfolk local radio that we can expect "serious Snowfall" Tuesday onwards. Interesting times ahead :-)
-
Well I am travelling Wednesday from Fakenham to Ely so I don't want the snow. Might have to chance it I guess. Love the snow but not when I have to drive in it. A belated Happy New Year to you all!
-
Still waiting in Fakenham.
-
Hope it reaches North Norfolk. Mind you we have already had around 9 inches around here! This will really make the roads icy if it freezes afterwards.
-
The advisory is for icy roads after the sleet and snow. I dare say they are covering themselves. Will watch weather reports tonight.
-
Julie Reinger always underplays it for some reason. Alex Deakin now says heavy snow for the East. Who do you trust?
-
Well I live in Fakenham and only expect a dusting. No denying it won't be cold though. Look forward to the Northerly if we get it.

From the Met Office:
We are predicting a much colder spell of weather over the coming days, with an increasing chance of sleet or snow, especially in the east.
Daytime temperatures may not rise much above freezing in places, with mist and fog that could persist in one or two areas.
Met Office Chief Forecaster, Frank Saunders said: “The change of weather follows a spell of very wet and mild weather but will add a more seasonal flavour for anybody out Christmas shopping in the days ahead.”
Optimistic for next week then?

I live near the North Norfolk Coast. Any chance it might snow here?
-
I will stick my neck out and say it will be very cold with temps around 0c in the day in England. Snow flurries on the East coast with a few spreading inland. a light dusting perhaps?
-
Just woke up to find the rain pouring through into the Kitchen! Throwing it down here at the mo.
-
Dead calm here in Norfolk, 2c with not a breath of wind. I guess that this will change tonight with heavy rain and winds?
-
I must say that I have joined this group at a eventful time. Being a novice, it is great to learn. Maybe another interesting weekend?
-
Another non-event in Norfolk. Moderate rain and a few gusts. Ho hum time for bed. Good night all.
-
Just had to cycle home in this from work....and OMG.
The wind is absolutley mental! Loud gusts and sheets of wind driven rain is bringing visibility to virtually zero.
I had to come over a small hill to get home and you could not see anything past 200yards or so apart from streaks of rain, fast moving clouds and the faded traffic lights in the distance, it was utterly amazing, although not good to be out in it mind you lol! ¬.¬
Rather you than me lol!
Driving rain here now, getting gusty.

Take no notice of Look East, they haven't a clue. They always downplay it. The Snow is coming don't worry about that.
