  1. thanks, good luck for you, probably will freeze over tonight hopefully, with not much sunshine at all tomorrow and some low cloud and fog, it looks like the snow will stick around/ it would take a lot for it to melt tomorrow as we havent had hardly any significant thaw
  2. a nice fresh covering of snow covering what we already have and snow falling still. look slike we will have a white christmas, although no snow falling on the day, but its still brilliant!
  3. lol i said about 3 times now, slighlty annoyed, the ppn is over us yet nothing is falling.grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  4. where is this rain for peeks sake lol? radar shows it right right at us and not a single fall of, rain, sleet or snow!
  5. its not about being fair, its not like when someone get more sweets than some other person, its just the way it gos. white xmas for me i think, with the lying snow, i was one of the lucky ones at least
  6. the ppn is not even here for us yet. its so close and i am waiting. where on earth is it!
  7. lol i agree, but the new york storms are widespread, but yet they still never get let down. the set ps of snow for NY always seem to egt them whenever there is a major storm going east, it bugs me. hope they lose out on a lot of snow this year, there expecting double digits in a few days and rain, not seasonal really for them and not much in the way of snow for new york so far this winter or i havent heard
  8. will the snow melt if the freezing rain falls? it might sound silly, but will it
  9. looked at the radar, ppn on my doorstep, but taking its time to move up to me
  10. hi, if you look at 168 hrs on ecm, is that a little low next east yorkshire? it looks that way to me, wouldn't that bring some significant snow?
  11. hi, if you look at 168 hrs on ecm, is that a little low next east yorkshire? it looks that way to me, wouldn't that bring some significant snow?
  12. i cannot see it being freezing rain here, but if it is, what will it do to the snow exactly?
  13. i think the ecm is the most confusing model, for me anyway. it is so weird how that high looked like it was sink, then magically it produces a proper greenland high also, i'm surprised it has not been mentioed, but the main low for early next week stays in the atlantic, so not giving us the proper rain and snow like was being suggested
  14. what do you mean when they all agree? they do agree on something, what could be pretty spectacular. Ecm and 18z will be the ones to watch.
  15. i know what you mean. you mean for charts like next week to just happen with some kind of technology very good agreement on one severe event next week, sorry thats a bit ludicrous more than one severe event likely if these charts verify.
  16. i know it is not the model thread, but i have to say this region could see some extreme snow and blizzards next week if the models are correct. its not just the extreme weather, but it would be the amount of snow we have had, especially for here. its something what could be an absolute shocker compared to the brilliant snow we had on sunday, it would dwarf what we had.
  17. fipping heck have you seen the new year charts! If ecm keeps hold of what is happening up in greenland at the start of the run, i predict a stonking ecm too. this is just too much lol. its going to be very interesting indeed. the regards to snow next week, i would say anywhere midlands northwards would be just totally snowed in. and all the snow dumpings what follow would add to the extremely snowy conditions. very exciting indeed. those who are moaning for cold and snow, need to stop looking at the charts because it will be harder to get much better than some of these stonking runs. i have just got to say whether its rain or snow places get, its gonna be interesting to see the pictures, this is something i cannot wait to see. could be mind blowing and this should transport people back to the 70s
  18. could someone tell me how i can find my current tempertaure? i live in kirklees and to find out this areas temps i usually look at how cold it is in leeds, however i don't live in leeds so the temperatures would be different. is there any site i could use because i notice some people put there current conditions in their siggys. what do people use to find all their current weather information, i don't mean a themrometer, but like the wind speeds etc
  19. 30ft is a bit off, in 63 some got up to 20ft, but after so much snow it could get there expecially if the wind is strong, either way looking possibly pretty spectacular, my mum said last night all these big snow events in the 70s etc, bought ordinary snow up to the windows and drifts up to astonishing heights and did not go for weeks, and my grandad use to get on the roof and knock off all the snow off the roof too. so if next week comes off, the snow thios week would look pretty crap
  20. The annoying thing is if thay low pressure from the s-west comes off next week, we will be wondering what the fuss was about with the snow we had this week lol so don't worry if we see the snow melt because this time next week the weather could be far worse than what we have now if it comes off. either way it looks another cold and wintry week
  21. I'm surprised there is little talk on that stonking low for tueday and wednesday, that could really bring some very severe weather, extreme snowfalls for midlands and north england and extreme flooding for the far south maybe? also freezing rain or am i wrong?
  22. in 63 drifts were recorded up to 20 ft. absolutly unbelievable. would the wind pick up and blow the snow off the ground and then into drifts, or would the snow just come from the sky and drift like that?
