  1. Sorry if thi is a bit off topic, but why would scandinavean high pressure the charts are showing bring any snow?
  2. Snow getting heavier but not sticking.. is there any way it will start to stick, any way the ground temp will drop? help much appreciated
  3. The bbc seem to think 9am for Cheshire. I think if its the main band in concern probably only a few hours, but the bbc seem to haave the idea that the band will stop, which it is showing signs of, be it a little later than expected. It may even stall over your area depending how south and west you are.
  4. Firstly for the north west i don't think this will be an 'event' really at all. The further south and west you are the higher the chance of precipitation, and assuming dew points are below 0c it will fall as snow, I'm not sure but from what I know that snow will not settle if the ground is above 0c, which it will likely be until a large amount of snow has cooled the ground. The best outcome would be the snow to start falling after dark, and have any water covering partially melted snow evaporated by then.
  5. Realistically this is the end of any snow which will stay lying for several days, however there could be some extremely heavy snowfall from the breakdown, but that could also fall as rain!
  6. BBC are now saying 5c on friday with heavy rain. Byebye cold
  7. Can anyone post net weather extra radar current picture please? Very much appreciated!
  8. Doesnt look much to me. In an hour we will know
  9. On the raintoday radar the only real band of snow i can see is the one just west of wales, will the wind swing round and bring that to us?
  10. Also says webcam offline but your way was more intelligent
  11. the warm front cant of just pushed the cold out could it?
  12. Well- for now anyway, i dont think we will see much tonight into tomorrow but that doesnt mean this is the breakdown or anything'
  13. I actually think its disgraceful the way BBC forecasts change a large amount daily. In fact 90% of the time they are useless, im not ranting at the snow thing, because, i dont actually want it tonight, but generally the BBC chop and turn after every run.
  14. To me that looks like the classic bbc "Snow will fall somewhere where white is showing" chart
  15. Well i never really trust them much, especially not when they call the few inches of snow "ARCTIC BLIZZARDS" as if we are struggling to open the door in the morning , but yeah i serously hpe this is just them scare-mongering people into thinking that north end vs chelsea might not go ahead or another of there file of plots to cause disruption amongst shoppers in Preston. Nice people down there at that paper. But yeah, heres hoping for snow that still permits travel
  16. I seriously hope this is a rumour. Its extremely important i can get to the city centre on monday morning.
  17. I think maybe the gfs is accounting for the pennines taking the sting out of anything coming from the east?
  18. Haha wouldn't count on that cloud its a long way out yet to be making a call on that and to be honest i don't have a clue about it, its barely on the satellite image at the moment
  19. ONLY -9.1! Its a good -2 here i should think
  20. The skies will probably be clear for the most part unless a lot makes it over the pennines. The further south you are the more chance of snow you will have on sunday night into monday (I dont think saturday is much for any of the northwest) and by marginal, it isn't that temps will cause rain, it is that snow simply wont fall in the north of the region looking at current charts, no precipitation will.
  21. doubt any snow will get this far. Looks on track to miss me narrowly anyway
  22. I know i hope it doesnt get to snowy on sunday night
