Just looked at the mod thread wish i bloody hadn't, am sick to death of having to have my heating on all the time. Costing me an absolute fortune. Looks like this brutally hard winter could drag on into May, fed up. -

Unbelievable, why didn't I buy British Gas shares, they are going to rocket in value as we are going to need our heaters blasting out for weeks yet The unthinkable, deep lying snow in May seems more and more likely -

It certainly looks like the cold will persist well into April, probably into May too. I would not be surprised to see "snow stopped play" in county cricket matches Once these wretched high's take root they are near impossible to shift and with a very weak atlantic/jet it is going nowhere anytime soon. -

Since my post about snow levels over the weekend in Croydon area was ignored I will ask it again. I have a christening on Sunday for my niece and have family travelling all over the south to my gaff for the christening and after party so need to advise them if they should bother or not. Please, anyone?- 846 replies

John Snow replied to Coast's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
Even though this is a snow forum I find it hard to believe that there are people relishing cold in April without snow unless they have a large portfolio of British Gas shares in which case they have hit the jackpot. I love snow but spring should be about warmth, a cold April will be mentally draining. -
I am surprised this thread is so quiet People under 30 living in Shropshire and other more western parts of the midlands are going to see more lying snow than they have seen in their lifetimes in the next48 hours Thought this thread would be frenzied!

As long as we get a good summer after the 6 month winter we will have had. My energy bills are frightening after all the heating I will have had on this few months and seemingly coming month too. -

John Snow replied to chionomaniac's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
From an IMBY perspective it is useless for me as we won't see any snow but it looks like the ECM has called it right on this occasion. The UK will probably end up with a watered down slightly version of the 6z I fully expect the GFS and UKMO to backtrack today and side with the ECM -

British Gas directors and shareholders will be delighted by the ECM 12z. The models are flip flopping all over the place so what happens will be down to now casting on the day. I have never seen such disagreement among the major models in the reliable timeframe in a long time. -
Extraordinary scenes, I thought it was near impossible for snow to settle in April due to strength of sun but wow just wow
-
Virtually impossible for snow to settle this time of year so anything that falls will be gone by the mid to late morning, can't get excited
