  1. Just heard ex met office presenter, Isobel Lang on Sky say that Sunday will likely be white out conditions for ALL of southern England!
  2. Can someone in Brighton give an update of conditions there please.
  3. Moderate to heavy snow now in Eastbourne (Pevensey side). Wooooooooohhhhh.
  4. I knew one of you would point that out. So my reply is that we are on the turn now. 30 years or so of mild winters is coming to end according to some experts. Check my link below out and make your own minds up.
  5. Are you serious, banning people? That's a little harsh isn't it? That aside what makes you think this is a once in a 20/25 year event. Up to 40 or so years ago this kind of set up was common in winter time.
  6. I think we can take that with a pinch of salt (if there's any left). They said that last week for this coming week.
  7. At last, something to report! First flakes of snow here in Eastbourne. Temp: 1 deg
  8. Can't we arrange a snow chaser group by coach? North Dorset looks a good destination. Who's in?
  9. And the BBC South East forecaster said the LP could track East too.
  10. According to DC on BBC at 6:25 there was no certainty which track the LP would take!
  11. All the constant interpretation and speculation here is wonderful(seriously). I enjoy reading every one of them, even those tending on eccentricity! Keep them coming please. When a big event does happen (it has to sometime or other) I'm sure the local data and conditions will be gushing thick and fast.
  12. Even though "that" LP is predicted to form further to the south east it seems to track north west while deepening. Anyone guess what accumulations might be for Kent say?
  13. This is a COLD weather forum. Conversation and information on winter aspects for our region thanks very much. But for the record: Local temp: 2 deg C Slight frost, clear and calm conditions.
  14. I have to disagree. What if we are in the start of a period of severe winters for 10 to 20 years or even longer? This is possible and we must adjust accordingly. For too long now we have been spoilt with mild winters and hot summers (spanning approximately 25 years). The economics of Scandinavian countries (or Canada) are not affected by cold snow bound weather.
  15. That LP could still give a good 5 to 10cm over our region even if it does centre further SE. Whatever happens, with an Easterly we will get lots of showers coming in at the very worst.
  16. I'm quite new to this forum. But I am not going to pull any punches in this particular posting. A snow shower here, another one there. A cm here or two. It's simply not good enough! What we all want and long for is a raging blizzard for 2 or 3 days with massive drifting and for the winter to be as severe as 1963 or 1947. It will come, it has to come. Enough said.
  17. Fret ye not. If the LOW doesn't hit us hard next weekend there will be plenty of other potential LOW's to hit us before this winter's out I'm sure of that.
  18. Watching the end of TOMASZ SCHAFERNAKER's presentation it's like The Day After Tomorrow scenario! LOL.
  19. Just seen the latest update on BBC News 24 with Daniel Corbett showing moderate to heavy snow from Wednesday morning for Kent and East Sussex.
