  1. you are spot on..frost will linger all day and being frosty will keep it cold...just one thing though if its a cloudy high then that will keep temps up
  2. big high pressure over us next week..sharp frost and foggy at times . but this will give us a very cold block
  3. Nothing in north Essex, wet and windy, temp has dropped but its to windy off the coast that's keeping the snow away from us
  4. my son has just factimed from hotel in new york...its not to bad in the city but further north its a no go he is hoping flight out will now go ahead....as for my region any snow event from the west is never going to snow me in lik e last time very little here. still living the dream
  5. My son is stuck in New York ....all flights cancelled, and flights from heathrow cancelled as well. Inch an hour is forecast, for the next sixteen hours now that's Snow, not the silly bits we get.
  6. big flakes of the winter....but melt as soon as touches the ground...roads wiil be bad if it does settle later as this is just washing all the grit away
  7. heavy snow shower for 10mins......nothing settled....its 2c. so only expecting wet ground from any showers
  8. Just poped in to the n/w thread ...some have a mixture Here is what one post says -----raining heavy now, that's it, it's all over here. Grauple cover not melting yet though strangely--- Hope iam wrong but Iam not expecting much here, and if it does its not going to last long
  9. It's on it's way, welsh reports say its just started in east Wales, and they were expecting rain...think it's fragmenting a bit as it moves east, it's 50/50 if we get lots, as these west to east events do produce less than the west
  10. There are two fronts heading our way, the first one is going to give a snow event, Friday into Saturday, then a gap so snow should be around for a few hours, then the second band which will quickly bring rain behind a small band of snow. By Sunday morning it's looking like a big drip...
  11. +1c here seeing some drips already ...but there are some big differences around, not expecting much snow during day light hours...rain/snow in the south/west has a lot of work to do to reach us
  12. agree..Mr atlantic has had his break and comes back fresh ( windy ) I have the same here, car going white again and temps are -1.5
  13. light snow, dusting, and the car is going white again...strong mild winds at the weekend right thriugh to the start of Febuary, gfs..charts
  14. enjoy...its going to be all over by next week end ....latest gfs....mr atlantic has a big push....but i remember 1963. same thing happened and 5foot...yes 5foot drifts in places ..after a short lull
  15. Very heavy small pellets ,poor visibility, brightend up ,but now getting darker, same wind direction..N/E...temps still on freezing point...don't look a lot on the ground, but someone has just put a broom to a car window and I could not believe how much came off. It's drifting in place as well
  16. All ways remember my old gran saying meny moons ago...it will get warmer when it snows. Flakes will get bigger when temps. Rise
  17. Been heavy swizzle here for past hour...reading in the London s/e thread it seems its the norm For everybody, one post has just said larger flakes now hitting the north Kent coast... Looks like steady light snow for all...no reported blizzards anywhere and no white outs...could end up being a poor event
