Maxed out at 24.4°C here today, but as others have hinted, it actually felt warmer than yesterday.
That’s quite funny Lyn, 24.4c was my max yesterday and Friday but today nudged up to 24.6c .
Probably not so warm tomorrow due to somewhat less sun and interesting mid-high level cloud drifting North.
-
Warmest day since 3rd September, 24.5c max.
Still above 17c at nearly 22.00, been sat out enjoying it and thinking how perfect it is!

Well the balloon flight got cancelled due to the wind! You never can win with British weather, sunny and 21c but too windy!! Expect we’ll rebook and it will be calm but wet!
Anyway, lots of outdoor jobs to do in the sunshine today.
-
What’s with all the haze? Lovely and warm though.
Rather concerned about the breeze affecting our balloon flight later.

It’s nothing if not varied this week!
A SE gale and hazy sunshine on Monday. Rain/drizzle but also bright/calm yesterday and this morning in Trowbridge it’s foggy after I left my side of Warminster at 7am where the sky was clear!
-
A beautiful if chilly/gusty weekend in Warminster with plenty of sunshine/hazy sun.
There are 2 potential flies in the ointment for me this week, a pesky front to annoy me working outside on Tuesday then possibly too much breeze for our hot air balloon flight on Thursday afternoon, that would be so frustrating!!
-
Outdoor work weather is going surprisingly well. Monday had an hour of vile drizzle then dry, Tuesday was somehow dry until after 10am, yesterday and today dry with today being simply stunning.
Going forward tomorrow will be great too but next week could become uncertain.
We have a hot air balloon flight booked next Thursday afternoon, bricking it with the unsettled prospect for a week’s time.
-
So I checked the radar at 05.30 and there was nothing nearby. I drove to Trowbridge an hour later and encountered heavy drizzle which lasted a few hours! I really am a rain magnet!
Tomorrow looks potentially awful .

So here we are at the beginning of another school holiday and what do we have in store for the first day of Andy’s 2 weeks of outdoor work?
Drum roll!
Forecast for a wet Monday!
Losing track of how often this has happened in the 2 years I have only been working outside in school holidays.

21mm of rain today! Dry spell well and truly over!
-
Amusingly (given we are slap bang under a LOW) it has been a bone dry day in Warminster as we were too far West to be under the clearer then showery conditions, but slightly too far East to catch the more persistent precipitation that dropped down from the North. As a result we had a frosty, sunny start then an overcast afternoon with hazy sunshine at times as the frontal cloud came and went.

3mm of rain this morning and a brief hail shower afterwards but mostly sunny since midday with anvils passing to the NE and SW.
Edge of an anvil from the nearest shower directly overhead now but lovely in the garden again if a bit of a fresh breeze.
Early hours of Thursday look interesting for a swathe of our region.

Front is lagging a bit. Should’ve cleared by now. Still raining lightly. Can just make out the back edge to the northwest.
I always add 2 hours to predicted cold front clearance times then there’s no annoyance lol.

8 sunny days out of 9 and even yesterday it cleared late afternoon so we made the most of the lighter evening.
I can’t see us getting much rain, a few showery bursts tomorrow morning then sunny with scattered showers. Wednesday and Thursday look interesting in the afternoons but not everywhere will see precipitation then drier Friday.
So the main change is temperature which will be mainly noticeable when it’s not sunny.
-
Conversely not even a hint of mist around Warminster this morning so a slight frost and full on sun. 6 mostly sunny days in a row.
-
So, the national BBC forecast at 13.30 showed a dry day for all of our region tomorrow. Then 10 minutes later Ian’s Points West forecast showed showers breaking out over Wiltshire, East Dorset and West Hampshire from midday onwards!
Ian did add that he thinks the model was overdoing it, but how can 2 forecasts from the same providers model be so different!?

Very consistent temperatures on my side of Warminster (I note Tim had a much lower minimum the other day) this week. All maxes between 15.0c to 15.9c and mins between 0.4c to 1.8c .
No reason to think it will be any different tomorrow and Saturday.

The SW ‘finger’ of that cloud was over here but has now moved away and/or burned off so warm sunshine looks likely from now on.
-
Today’s max of 13.3c was the highest since 27th February, that rather shows how bland it’s been since that remarkable week.
More importantly there was plenty of hazy sunshine after a damp start.
-
Wow! Tumbleweed!
24 hours on and as predicted more invizdriz, however the sun did put in a few brief appearances yesterday.
-
I’m with Mapantz in this, last week although so wet at times had plenty of sunshine too. I got washing dried in a few hours twice whereas this week it hasn’t dried at all.
Monday started glorious but ended up with persistent light rain and hazy sun. Tuesday and yesterday were overcast all day with invizdriz at times. Today actually started quite clear but since 07.00 dullness and invizdriz have returned.
So far as I can tell tomorrow will be similar so roll on the cold front to hopefully clear things up during Saturday!
-
Thankfully we’re now at the time of year when a clearance after 16.00 means several hours of sunshine. Very pleasant now after an overcast day until half an hour ago.

Absolutely love that smell, it should be strong this evening after 6 warm dry days.
The rain is moving East to West but the medium level cloud overhead is moving South to North.
