  1. This may be interesting to watch today: National Buoy Centre Can get wave heights and hourly pressure readings from buoys around UK
  2. Yes diabolical is the word, the only consolation I can see from it is, that it may help to lower everyones expectations for next winter-although somehow I doubt it!
  3. Nice little feature here looks like a deepening low off NW Scotland http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/latest_uk_ir.html
  4. Looking at Raintoday-some showers seem to be spawning over the Irish sea, only smaoll atm but who knows. Surprised Diane said it was coming from Midlands-from here everything looks like its coming from the West.
  5. Yeah I know I remember seeing it on the ECM-don't think it was verified on other models though-had an outrageous low centre of 949mb or something.
  6. Interesting...on the snow and ice in NH forum someone pointed out a correlation between ice cover and cold winters. The correlation being, the greater the ice cover the less chance of a snowy, cold UK winter. I know that sounds counter intuitive to us non experts, but it does mean slightly warmer northern oceans surely?
  7. Most Westerly buoy Station 62095 - M6 - West Coast showing pressure rising at 0800 - 977mb
  8. Well still very strong winds here, trees bending. Supposed to be playing golf today at the Warren Wallesey-I don't think so!!
  9. Still pretty scary-I'm hoping the good ol Clwydians and Snowdonia will shelter my location a bit
  10. ...even that seems to have been downgraded...it was going to be the Mother of all UK lows the other day...now chief forecaster at the met says...'Relative to recent storms that have affected the UK, Friday's depression is looking less intense and the extent of associated impacts are currently thought to be less widespread and less severe'
  11. Still dodgey on that 27L runway heathrow-EIN 724 just doing a go around
  12. What is the record? I thought it was about 925mb - got quite a way to go to beat that, maybe more chance in tomorrows effort?
  13. WOW yes-that's further north than M6-pressure has shot down on that buoy-now lower than M6 has been all morning-maybe its deepening as the centre moves North
