  1. Well its teasing here near the Bridge... guess a little bit too close to the estuary. Nice to see anyway and I really do believe that this winter has all the hallmarks of being something absolutely epic. We need all the players to be in our favour but to see a vortex not where it should be and all that figid air locked up in the Scandi lets see Fingers crossed.
  2. Does Yamkin still post in here. He was great for the croydon council updates. Surprised at the temp as wasn't forecast to get this low
  3. I don't often post in here, I tend to stick to the local se regional threads. Is there a roaring Atlantic bring mild mush. No I haven't seen anything in the models that brings mild dross that we had through majority of October and November. Dismissed by many and probably with good reason. Would rephrase the comment to chilly as at nowhere do I see yellow lines. Bringing upwarddls of 8-10 degrees.
  4. I am sorry even after a few large beers no way will I agree with this sentiment about the ECM
  5. we have a massive squall line going through here near the dartford bridge its mental will post a video from my phone in a minute
  6. 87 was stunning. Lived on top of a hill in Purley in Surrey and it was brutal. Now i remember when the power went out. We overlooked London and it went out very quickly about 4.30am. The wind was relentless. I remebmber my dad running round the house checking all the doors and the windows and the garage and the shed. when the dawn broke, wow. The local golf club across the valley lost over 200 trees. Oaks park in wallington/carshalton was obliterated. This has all the hall marks of this, not sure if we have sting jet modelled on this or if it is just ferocious winds. There is an awful lot of it will be further south or further north. I think they will go for a middle ground on Thursday. This has been modelled out for a number of days, probably 5 or 6 and its nearly upon us. it is probably worth warning elderly people about the "potential" Stay safe peeps
  7. I doubt I will ever forget that chart I was on work experience in Croydon. The old slam door trains. It got stuck and the points froze wow so cold
  8. I think I have mentioned this a few times lol. But 17 degrees at what 22.10 on the 9th October is nuts.
  9. Is that Exacta weather pedalling his once in a generation rubbish 🗑
  10. Holy molly it's hot 23 degrees at 22.50 in September that has to be a night time record surely for the time of year
  11. Tell you what I am genuinely utterly surprised by the longevity of this heatwave. I broke all my rules today and closed the windows and blinds and makes a significant difference. 5 days of over 30 a day this late in the summer just absolutely stunning. Was out for a walk this morning and you could see the difference some high level cloud. Just really don't want this to fizzle out without a decent thunderstorm.. we deserve a decent one to finish the summer. Not holding my breath lol
  12. Will be very disappointed if we don't go bang. Got a wonderful long view over the dartfotd bridge in the distance. Hoping for some lightning
  13. I reckon today could break a few records for heat. @Captain Shortwave or anyone ekse whwt us the hottest Seotember day. Off fir an early morning wslk now
  14. Interesting as we hurtle towards September, I saw a very interesting tweet that said similar to the story on the day after tomorrow, reckoning the gulf stream and North Atlantic current are at its weakest point in 1600 years. I would say this similar to what TN9 said everything is totally out of sync at moment.. Winter hmm let's wait snd see. My most exciting time watching Svslbard fill up with snow and it going dark in about December fir 3 months. Love it
