I think this has to be one of the worst Shannon entropy that I can remember for a long time. The BFTE seemed to be far better than this time. I think one of the biggest issues here is that literally every single run and suite is being taken as gospel. But it still will only go out as far as 14 days. Its a truly stunning morning on way into woolwich station for the Elizabeth line. God I hate the govt and tfl and southeastern. That's another discussion!!! Think its time to have a model break until Friday or Saturday

Model Output Discussion - the cold has arrived
Jimmyh replied to Community Team's topic in Forecast Model Discussion
I like others have been on this forum for a long time 14 years in fact in 2009. It reminds me sometimes of the old BBC forum back in the day will it snow or not. There was always the mild rampers and the snow fans. In those days we only had weather forecasts on the TV and stuff to watch and get excited by. I remember Iver the last 14 years ish that I have never ever seen a NH profile like this. The Vortex on holiday in Asian side. This will take many more runs and calmness to reach for. We have lost so many clam posters because of petty sniping or the charts don't show what we all want to see. Let's try and let everyone have their opinion as far away from what ever people want. If peeps post FI stuff then so be. Experienced readers and posters aside no the likelihood of that coming to fruition is.... when we look for trends. I am still learning and am sad that at when a cold spell ends we don't keep calm and carry on. Snow to this depth and longevity in South East London is a such a rarity. I will continue to read and learn more but let's remember everyone is entitled to their sights and opinions -
Model Output Discussion - the cold has arrived

I love this forum and have been on it for a long time..... what never fails to amaze me is the search for a breakdown when we are at 48 hours into the cold spell. In the last 3 winters we would have given our right and left arms to be in this position. I can't remember a time probably since the forever mentioned 2010 when there wasn't any purples over ne us or Canada. Our little island is always going to br on the edge of the breakdown. But just let's enjoy this. It mat not be record breaking in terms of temps. I can't remember a single frost last year. What do the perturbations have in store for us who knows... i know for one I am going to enjoy this and hope to get a taste of narnia. But I wouldn't ever usher this away for screaming sw winds and dross. Hopefully we can catch a couple of cheeky streamers. But enjoy the ride. -
Model Output Discussion - moving into Winter

How do we make sense of 21 pages in 20 hours!!! It's a wonderful read this place and it's always gold onto your hats. From a complete novice pov ironic blocking and no true depth of cold to dip into. Keep the faith. Closest I think we have got to 2010 synoptics. As long as this wild wet must does one and it gets seasonal fabulous. I can't remember a frost last year full stop -
Model Output Discussion - Deeper into Autumn

Fabulous post. I for a couple of days as the responses to record breaking temps and warm end to October was convinced this was how November 2010 started. -
