  1. the storm that has run through Chelmsford and now heading N-East is is pretty active now
  2. windblade you missed the one that went right inthe middle of those two arrows went straight over Chelmsford but developed quickly from not a lot you need another arrow on the plane of your place - just starting after your place .... <sorry>
  3. quality of lightning last night = epic quantity of lightning last night = pathetic probably only had about 8 lightning strikes last night but each was pretty special - some of the longest (distance) and longest duration C-C crawlers I've ever seen - epic thunder associated with it pity not a lot of it
  4. lol knew as I wrote that something would happen what lightning there is is very sporadic but impressive - very long C-C crawlers lasting way over a second
  5. I love it when you hear the first "gun-shot" crack then as its so close it takes ages for the "roll" to get back to you radar is a right mess can't make head nor tail out of any individual cells
  6. can hear deep "thuds" in the distance from lightning I can't even see - very weird out there
  7. just had one of the longest "flashes" I've seen - it just kept going -and the thunder went on and on and on almost sounded like a very loud plane went on so long - good stuff
  8. just woke up to Thunder after not nodding off waiting lol
  9. I only chase from wherever I am now -normally at home I used to chase in the car - to get back home and find the kids and wife say "oh an amazing storm we had ...." sometimes staying put - you win some you lose some but in general you do OK and its much safer
  10. we might get some other cells but not-sure how the atmospheric mechanisms work - but they nearly always shoot up the channel - no idea why
  11. that storm over North France look amazing - but I'm worried its going to be a Kent Clipper at best 98.5% happens - even if models say otherwise camera and spare battery still charged just in-case though !
  12. after being pessimistic all day yesterday - I'm not at all convinced with the predictions of it shunting west I still the East and South East is going to be where the party is overnight
  13. I've my eyes on that swirl mid-way over the Channel and the bit behind it over Le Havre - I reckon fun and games for the S-East with that lot later I have a feeling it'll develop nicely
  14. bleep yeah - agreed the beep is very annoying ! if there is a way to disable ...
  15. what we don't want I guess is high level cloud to be pushed over from the storms from France dropping our temps looks good so far though charging camera for tonight
  16. interesting Tom - thats raised my excitement thanks (I'm a storm fan btw) did I miss-read the GFS output or is it showing a very different prediction of tomorrow night ? thanks
  17. 12z just out - I'm a universe away from being an expert - but if anything looks worse than the 6z maybe a chance of the tip of Kent clipper but other than that maybe some rain in the West - but can't see if convective or not
  18. I'm not looking forward to seeing the Estofex update - as looking at the 06z I have a feeling that other than for the West the storms are going to roll through the channel at best haven't had decent imports in the S-East for years
  19. looks to me like rest of weekend for most of us midlands southwards going to be a bit of a bust (unless in the west) going to just enjoy the sunshine now
