  1. I think the majority will see rain on the next band coming in, Manchester maybe seeing some snow before turning to rain. The bbc have us for snow on Tuesday (heavy day and night) and they have been pretty spot on during this cold spell. I for one im happy to have afew days of rain/cold days and then look forward to the possible reload on Tuesday ;0 I think a white new year would just be icing on a beauitful cake this winter so far.
  2. Snowband pretty much cleared now my area, still cloudy, about 2cm of snow maybe 3cm and lovely really. Was a nice suprise if not a short one John (Haydock, near wigan)
  3. Haydock is just a winter wonderland atm, very heavy snow and sticking to nearly everything, a very nice suprise indeed.
  4. Its snowing quite light here but snow and the temperature is bitter cold, i dont see this turning to rain, i feel in my gut this cold spell is another suprise in store
  5. Cloudy and bitterly cold here in Haydock, and the BBC appear to be snow man atm, with a whole section on News 24 to the pending doom we will all face Wrap up warm and stay safe
  6. Ive just got in from work and Haydock (near wigan) seems to look more snowy, ill say now and im not one to go over board, its the coldest its been here in ages, infact its so cold my fingers started hurting. Its the first actual time during this cold spell that ive felt it so badly. If it does not snow here tonight then freezing rain for sure its really really cold. John
  7. Seems to be a heavy band of snow affecting N Ireland and Scotland, any chance that will track down over the night, hence the warning being upgraded on the met office website?
  8. Currently im in the centre of wigan (shopping/mobile device), I live in Haydock, not far and its also raining there too.
  9. Sleet/rain here now in Wigan, but its been brilliant today, a nice taster of winter to come, i hope
  10. Well they never saw that coming eh, i woke up this morning to see a new fresh coat of snow, looked at the radar and thought mmmm going to be a nice day today really Went to town and well an 30 minute drive took me near an hour and half with wide snow cover and its all beautiful. We have had sleet/snow/hail (size of golf balls) and now my pond is re-freezing and showers are rolling in. This is Haydock (near wigan) John
  11. The line of showers for the northwest seem to have stalled really and not making any progression at all. I hope they start to move toward us maybe leaving a dusting over the early morning, but im quite doubtful. The ice here in Haydock (near wigan) is dreadful however. John
  12. I agree with you, the temperatures are now starting to rise, i was very suprised to see snow this morning and nothing can be set in stone, but i think the majority of low areas will see heavy sleet/rain tonight, turning back to snow on the back edge and showers tomorrow of pure snow. John
  13. I think the met office are looking at it as a night event, in which they will probably issue flash warnings when required, but the main bulk of issues will be for Sunday as thats when people and snow will most likely interact. Northwest tonight have been very negative toward this whole cold spell in general and many times ignored the fact its already been snowing, let alone the chance of possible heavy snow fall. John
  14. Cloudy and been snowing all morning really, its not ammounting to much, it does go very wet/to very heavy from tiem 2 time. Light dusting and the temperature to me feels like its dropped over the last hour as this morning was quite mild to the feel. Current conditions, very light grain sleet Haydock (near Wigan)
  15. Snowing in Haydock at the moment and its 11.15am, Its light snow and wont stick but its still snowing Its not as cold as the met office have bleated on about to be honest, but ive seen snow way earlier than i usually do, so im all happy.
  16. Saturday night into sunday, but it being more showers (hit and miss) sunday. I will note that they are not as perky about talking about our snow chances as they were when a certain other part of the country had a forcast of snow
  17. I think from what ive just seen on Northwest tonight, it will start as rain in most places, turning to snow on the back end leading to a snowy Sunday. I think like all snow situations tho its suck and see. If it snows the yay if not then it will still be cold.
  18. Here in Haydock (close to Wigan) we had quite abit of snow last night, it didnt ammount to much on ground, but was snowy. Today has been very very cold with only mid afternoon the snow starting to melt to freeze again now. I know saturday looks set to be wet and windy and sunday to be snowy. Here for a white xmas
