  1. Its been quite wet drizzle here with the current mild spell, however it seems only our region is suffering from it as warnings appear for Tuesday for most southern and Wales areas for snow We do live in a very cursed area but at least we can now all function safely and go back to work John
  2. I suspect the met office will pull all warnings down as milder air digs in, decreasing the potential for snow. I'm still in shock getting milder air from the east, but we learn something new every day.
  3. I love it, the thaw sets in by surprise to everyone and the whole, 'its been a lovely winter, looking forward to summer folk come out', Winter is far from over. The mild air was a suprise and i dont think many saw it coming, but its here and their is not much snow around, but lets not shoot the weather out just yet.
  4. I dont think they forcasted anything but light snowfall, drifting being the main part of the warning, maybe we heavy stuff on Monday/wednesday
  5. The thaw is certainly with us here in Haydock but very slowly. I'm kinda glad as milder conditions would be nice for afew weeks or so not like we are really going to get them
  6. Ive seen various forecast's today and each one saying something completely different. The latest really giving us in our region another lovely sunny day with snow refined to the east of the region. I think in my opinion they really don't have a clue for the next few days, because the in tenseness of the charts are also changing from heavy to light depending on your forecaster. Have to wait and see, but nice to think the cold weather is lasting to Wednesday at least in our region.
  7. I dont think its the last we will see snow in Merseyside in this cold snap, even if we see some on the breakdown that is still not set in stone for a further 2 weeks if the met office/media are to be believed. It's very cold out there atm, and icey and anything could happen next week, with a streamer or anything. Stop being so glum heehee A optimistic Merseyside person ;0
  8. met office has stood down its warnings for our region for Sunday and Monday Ive heard rumour that when/if the breakdown occurs because of the such low temperatures it will be very unlikely to budge the cold air meaning very very snowy conditions for many, maybe snowier than any of us have seen in our life time, however living in the Northwest, any snow is a mirical. John
  9. It is anyones guess mate, the nowcasting is the only way as something might happen, something might not happen. Im going to go with my gut feeling that nither will give the Northwest any snowfall, and its not been mentioned by anyone, especially the powers of be, but a snow event can come from nowhere, hit like a brick and leave us all scratching our heads in the morning wondering what happened. Wait/See/Hope Sunday seems to be our best bet.
  10. I never thought an east blast ever gave us much here in the Northwest?
  11. Maybe im a mild lover underneath my love for snow. I just like something happening i suppose rather than day after day of the same. If it snowed every day im sure that would start to get boring. I know, very hard to please iam :yahoo: It looks from what i can gather that your going to be in your element with sunshine and blue skys all the way, Sunday might throw a blip, but their is indication that a breakdown will happen sometime next week, even if the met office really are not that confident in that happening, afew in the model forum are now suggesting that. Whatever the weather, some very very good snowmen around these days, those art classes have done our kids good We have a snowman with a dog and a lead down the bottom of our street.
  12. Seems to be alot of chat on a breakdown next week which always indicates to me in the Northwest as lots of snow to start with I have to admit i hate sunshine and clear blue skys and especially when its for days on end. Forcasts everywhere seems to be very sketchy and breif atm, really interesting times ahead.
  13. Anyone know the situation for our region now, will it settle down for the next few days? Any more potential events on the cards. The local forcasts wont go past Wednesday and the country wide forcast has changed Thursday to an east snow flurries. Anyone got any heads up what to look out for?
  14. heavy snow here in haydock, and it seems to be very very snowy for quite awhile, the preciptation really beefed up.
  15. currently raining here, very light, but just had to dig my path out, and its very deep indeedy. It looks like nothing much more for my area really, but all is good.
  16. The northwest weather forcast said that the null was going to be replaced by the huge mass out in the irish sea, so i think some more snow is certainly on the cards, around 9 clock apparently :S
  17. All down to showers now, its pretty much broken up in the west of the region, showers coming in from the NW with some luck
  18. It looks like many areas are clearing up with snow on the raintoday radar, but the north band seems to now be tracking south, and the blob in the irish sea is now tracking east Might have a fine morning for many area tho
  19. I think the main problem was how areas which really should of been quite marginal got lots of snow to start with and areas which should of been a dead certain, got very little until now. Its been so confusing for the met office I do feel for them.
  20. raintoday radar shows the band which was quite organized in the south region starting to break up into more showery outlook, i hope it perks up abit more
  21. Haydock, which is between st.helens and leigh, and as everything seems to be tracking east toward Manchester, its look good  Im not sure if the band north of us is going to track south over our region, but im sure the irish sea will continue to feed this streamer especially during the day light hours.
  22. Those bands are in no hurry, as can been seen on raintoday radar, and the irish sea is giving them all the energy they need, which is probably while our resident mild ramper said the dreaded things might get worse  especially when we add the sun into the mix.
  23. yeah same here, but plenty of snow in the Irish sea, and it has to feed in at some point, the two main bands are moving east now, the band north to us especially, the snow activity for my area looks like slowing down, im just hoping we get a boost in the next hour,
  24. pretty much stopped now for me, as it becomes more showery, hopefully it will get itself together again in an hour or so. It certainly streaming down the mersey now tho
  25. I think you had a good spot mate, and ive enjoyed watching it develop with you over the night/morning It certainly is starting to feed and move toward us, this setup atm is very special, but like a poster said, please make sure your elderly neighbours/relatives are safe/warm and maybe go to the Post Office for them if you live near
