  1. yeah, GMTV just said that our area is under a warning until 9am The streamer from Scotland has perked up and heading our way now the streamer over us atm has moved a tiny bit, but not a great deal.
  2. Yeah please dont risk travel unless essential, due to the lack of grit and the fact that our areas have really been bashed beyond the met office dreams, main roads in many areas are full of snow.
  3. yeah okay things have got better :) than last night, but as one of the lucky areas which have been bashed all night near enough, this is just heaven
  4. In fairness i think this convective snow fall will continue for most areas well into the morning, and showers in the afternoon. The thing is nothing really has changed from early last night when it all started
  5. yep a strip of snow in the south of our region and a strip up the north, its amazing, ive just looked at our bin, where i put my plant pot and its totally vanished, looks like just under a foot of snow and still snowing.
  6. we are back to snowballs falling from the sky :s madness but a day off work, woop
  7. Currently im seeing a streamer develop and finger out over the irish sea from Scotland, their is also a small streamer coming off Northern Ireland (maybe a merge), then we have our 2 main bands(bigger streamers) which are tracking east and south but so slow, infact ill say they not changed much position at all. I think that if the factors come together, we will certainly get some more signifcant snowfall, and then when the final band does ship off east/south i would not be shocked by showers either behind.
  8. yeah, im far from expert, just seeing what im seeing on radars, but the two bands seem to flirt but not move, we have certainly lost the intense snowfall here but still snowing all the same. I just have a feeling we have some suprises, have to see how it develops in the next hour or so. The BBC dont really shift the snow away from our region until evening tomorrow, even tho they make little noise about it.
  9. Truth is the raintoday radar shows our region is never far away from preciptation really, i think the major problem is where the 2 bands are actually going, they seem to flirt with each other but not really merge at all, and im not sure if its just me, but they seem to not move very fast anywhere either (hence the dumping), the streamer you talk about also looks like maybe a problematic feature for the day light hours, if it comes off.
  10. yeah i use the raintoday radar and the met office Met office is really good one if not too bloody slow, but shows the general idea of whats happening. Its pretty much stopped here now, that band seems to have zipped through my area I still think suprises are on the arisen, tonight has just been full of them.
  11. yeah, ive noticed that, and also the 2 green dots over the irish sea, ive got a feeling that might perk up, like all the other per has over the irish sea tonight
  12. Much lighter the snow now here, but im happy, it truly is an event and half. I the main streamer is moving south, and the one further north seems to be slipping away. So hopefully we might avoid a rush hour disaster here, unless the streamer kicks in again.
  13. Im Haydock just off the East lancs, and its not even snow now, its just snowballs, its that thick, ive been following the met office radar, been more clear if delayed. If any more streamers/fronts develop during the morning rush hour over us, then Wigan/St.helens council are going to be Lettuceed, as they have no salt and the main road is already blocked into st.helens which really is a first since ive moved here. It also means work tomorrow is very unlikely. Oh and the dam schools close down meh
  14. chuffed for you bud dumping you will now have, Its just shocking here, ive never seen it this thick even as a young lad.
  15. Wigan/St. Helens has ran out of grit bud, serious onions hitting fan if this continues until early morning/rush hour :s
  16. I was going to go to bed, but got to report that Haydock now has a total whiteout, huge flakes of snow and very very heavy, heaviest snow ive seen in many of a year Its far from over it would seem.
  17. Back to heavy snow here again, and the sky is orange Its been really special tonight, i just wish everyone was getting it.
  18. 400 clock met office radar shows pepped up blob just north of us, not far at all, if that slips south then more is certainly on the cards. Its now clear skys here, which is certainly in keeping with the radar, i think its just going to be a suck and see.
  19. snow/sleet drizzle here now in Haydock, its still been an amazing few hours and maybe some more to come.
  20. light here atm, but steady im going to have to grab some sleep, so fingers crossed. BBC forcast has snow over the south of our region for most of the day tomorrow, and Thursday looks interesting.
  21. 2 weeks of cold weather, this is a suprise event really, plenty more to play for bud, and plenty more snow/sleet/rain heading over our region.
  22. met office updat radar shows nothing has really changed, the streamer is stuck over our region and the band to the north has moved south, but slowly.
  23. Back to heavy snowfall here in Haydock again, so the fella that said not to worry was bob on I really should sleep, but far to excited and i think work will be a no no tomorrow anyway
  24. I think its very localized, as liverpool is not a million miles away from me, but we have had pretty much non-stop snow all night/morning and its just turning back to very light snow now John
